15 minute seated ab workout is great for seniors and beginners!
These exercises are perfect for those who do not want to get down on the floor to work your core and abdominals. I will instruct you through lots of different moves working all sections of your abs. We will stay in a seated position the entire time, but beware, it's not as easy as it looks!
Make sure you have a sturdy chair for this workout. Preferably without side arms so you have a full range of movement. Please don't use your couch for chair core workout.
I will instruct you to engage your core and pull your belly button in towards your spine repeatedly. This is to make sure we are activating the correct abdominal muscles and to protect the lower back as well.
Please go at your own pace and take breaks when you need to. Some of these moves are challenging. Make sure to breathe!
Core strength is so important for overall health and well being. It affects balance, posture, spine and back health and mobility.

I became a believer in chair exercise when recovering from foot surgery. Although long healed, I still love it and use many of SeniorShapes workouts.

Wow! Another great video. Don’t be fooled just because it’s a abs chair workout doesn’t make it easy by no means! It’s very gentle but tough and effective! You definitely feel it working the muscles! Thanks so much for making it possible for those of us who can’t do regular abdominal floor exercises! I do appreciate it! 🥰❤️👍

I am one of your biggest fans and have been enjoying so many of your wonderful videos. Unfortunately, this month I suffered a stroke and two mini strokes. I was in the hospital for one month and I am finally home. It was the scariest thing ever. But, I am getting back slowly and your videos have helped me so much. My ankle hurt, but I still wanted to train. I trained on a chair, my ankle was comfortable and my body was training efficiently. And I did another 18 minute workout! I had a good workout and I think it really did some good for my ankle. Thank you so much Lauren! On your channel we can always find very comfortable workouts.❤❤❤❤❤😊

This is a great workout if you want to slow down and think about the muscles you're activating. I've been adding strength exercises to my exercise routine and this has helped me a LOT to get back in touch with my core!

Hi Lauren! Thank you for all your chair workouts. I have just recovered after 12 weeks with a fractured right ankle and am facing left knee replacement next month. Your videos keep me moving and focusing on strengthening my core and leg muscles. I am a water aerobics instructor and haven't been able to get in the water and exercise for awhile. Hopefully your videos will keep me in shape until I can teach again.

Wow! I really felt the result in my abdominal muscles from this workout, maybe even more than standing or floor exercises because it forced me to focus on my abdominals and not "cheat" by using my back, arms or legs. Great workout!
