I have recently discovered qigong and I find it so wonderful. These videos are good, clear and I particularly like the gentle and modest way they are delivered. I suffer from stress and anxiety and somehow feel safe and nurtured with these sessions. Thank you Jeff Chand

One of the main reasons people practice qigong is anxiety, and stress. Here is a handy 5 step process you can do to immediately reduce anxiety

Something that has really helped me a LOT in addition to qi gong and eating well is a book called Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh. He really helps you to see that it's ok to feel anxious and that in many ways it can be a positive as it helps you to overcome your fears. Also, the author has had a history of pretty intense anxiety himself and shares his personal account of overcoming it, which is very encouraging in those times when it feels like a life sentence.

Lately I am aware of my high stress level. So I am doing your routines for calming a busy mind. After your advice to get moving I made a long walk in the polder. Along the way I felt my shoulders dropping down. So thank you for this video. 💚

Hi. I just wanna thank you for this. It s simple and very easy to understand. I suffer from this kind of dissorder most of my life and i live in bosnia so it includes war and many very reasonable reasons for it in my life. One thing i dig it myself in wartimes -no doctors no help - is just the 5 steps you described here. First one is so true. Even just one or two steps forward from the place you re standing is so helpfull.
And the other ones too.
Big hug and love from mirela m.
I m pracicing yoga taichi qigong and meditation combo. And it works. 😊

I like to pretend my depression and anxiety is a roommate. "Okay, Vanessa, sure. You wanna spend all day feeling sick about something from middleschool? Go ahead. I'll be over here not doing that."

After the 5th step, I would add the EFT tapping which continue to dissolve the émotional effets on the Tan Tian

I love the first step, get moving. My grandma used to say “vacuum your room and you’ll feel better.” So funny!

Hi Jeff, I am graduating as a certified health coach and I will recommend you to my clients. I feel the root of our health first depends on our mental state an Qi Gong is a gentle way to begin letting go of our mental weight.

Having social anxiety is perfectly valid.. I would say that if the fear is "unreasonable", then it is a repetition of an earlier trauma which is a perfectly valid and reasonable fear. So for example, if you are scared that someone is looking at you weird, try to pay attention of what feeling arises when you are scared people are looking at you, and instead of "letting it go", remember the last and first time that you felt that same feeling (it will be associated with a traumatic memory that you are projecting)(maybe you feel people to not like you, unloved, scared of social interaction, etc.) .. Instead of forcing yourself to "let it go", listen to your "unreasonable" fear and understand the deeper memory that it is trying to get you to process. Your emotions are always there to guide you. Don't fight nature. trust in all the powers of the mind (including emotions).. especially if you are having "looping thoughts", there is always something else beneath it.. once you figure out the original memory or trauma. then you can do Qi Gong to release the emotional charge of that specific root memory/associated feeling.. then finally you will understand WHY you have these social paranoias, etc. Notice how you categorize things in the physical world as a valid problem and a social/emotional problem as invalid that you need to get rid of by forcing "letting it go." If you try to do that, it will keep arising, you will keep thinking people are looking at you weird and you'll never actually understand why, you'll just be fighting a battle to force the pain out with breathing..

Dear brother another huge hug and thanks for this solid message. For me this is a critical lesson for a number of reasons. First the sense of being able to address a pathological issue in an effective manner. I was a counseling psychotherapist for over 18 years before coming fully into my qigong practice. My ambition now as you know is to find THe means and platform to educate all my former professional colleagues in the effectiveness of Chinese Qigong. I'm convinced that qigong is the most effective means... Thanks

It's not Chinese medicine. Acupuncture and acupressure came from India by Indian Buddhist monks. Qi Gong is also originated from Indian philosophy called Advaita-Vedanta. Tai Chi is originated from Kung Fu which was brought over by Indian Buddhist monk name Bodi Dharma. Most of world cultures and knowledge came from India. Thanks for your videos.
