Today's discussion will be on a video made by Provisionist Perspective. Here, they are attempting to prove the doctrine of synergism using this passage in romans chapter 8, otherwise known as the Golden Chain of Redemption. Christians can take comfort from this passage that all things are working together for the good of those who love God, and are called according to his purposes.

Powerful point: the first and greatest commandment is to "Love the Lord your God..." and yet, without the Spirit in us we cannot, it's impossible without God in the first place -- hope you read my previous, long comment brotha!

I don't think I am capable of comprehending a universe where teaching people that God is in control would not be helpful. The way they breeze right past that without a second thought... RIP

Another insightful video Rogue - Oh btw: praise our LORD, my family and folks and I are good! By God's grace He had the storm do almost nothing here... crazy, but hey, at His Word His will is done!

Interesting isn't it - never really saw it this way but, Synergists/Provisionists in a sense make God be at their wills, just like Roman Catholics at baptism. What do I mean? Well, because the person 'repents' from their own 'free will' and 'believe' from their own flesh and volition, with 'help of the Holy Spirit' of course, God must answer at their 'beck and call' to save them at that instance or in the RCC, come and regenerate that baby or person once the water is applied, or how they call down Christ into the eucharist at their will.. disgusting! Interesting indeed considering Jesus' words to Nicodemus about the Spirit and regeneration in John 3.

You have to wonder: why do synergists and provisionists hate God's Sovereignty in salvation? Hmm.

I was watching a live stream yesterday, a Christian Britt fellow and what did he have to say, "Free will" because the love of God and what not. I immediately was like, next.

Think of it like this, seriously, Provisionists and Synergists, the 'Free will' God's love and how it should be.
If your son or daughter was running onto a highway with semi-trucks speeding up and down it like the one in Pet Semetary, and your inner-alarms go off and you run, grab your child's arm, and yank him or her out of the road before just getting smashed - will your child, when she realizes you saved her from impending doom against her 'Free Will' of running into road of death, is she going to be upset with you, or, or, is she going to be so grateful, that her love for you is ever-multiplied and she wants to please you more than ever before!

That's what I thought.

Ok Reformed Biblical brethren, you can use that analogy to destroy that 'Free Will' 'real love' falsehood -
hahaha, praise GOD, it's all from Him, through Him and back to Him.. to Christ be all the Glory!

Cheers in Christ.

What you’re missing RC is not that Brian is saying you get to choose. Brian is an expert in the Greek and he is trying to convey the idea that you have to understand the sentence structure in order to understand what is working together.

I prefer my trials and sufferings to have no real significance, meaning or purpose over a sovereign God who has all things working together for good.

Biblical categories are hard for the “decisionist” crew. Working with God after regeneration isn’t the same thing as being regenerated itself. His using believers as the means to obtain the ends of His decree isn’t evidence for mythical synergism

This idea that God permits evil that he doesn’t want, is intellectually dishonest and dishonoring to God.

Oh boy! Already starting with some strong argumentation.

You think that there is no reason to try to understand what is being talked about when it says all things working together because you have no understanding of the way Greek is actually structured in the original language. If you did have an understanding, then you could actually try to go to the text and determine what the text is actually talking about but because you think that you’re assumptions that you make based on the way you’re reading it in English have to be the right assumptions you think that they’re just saying nonsense.
