Being 74 years old and raised and worked in the San Fernando Valley until I got the transfer to the Owen’s Valley at Control Gorge Power Plant while I was working for LADWP, eventually stayed there for 17 years. During that time I would always capture Gopher Snakes and let them go under the house or in my garage. Basically I did that because they will kill Rattlesnakes and I never had a problem with Rattlesnakes because of this.

my mink is now 5 months old she had her first rat 2 nights ago and she didnt disappoint she went in for the kill and it was a big rat too

Spark seems like he's coming along nicely. With all the time involved (you still have other things to do!), I understand why you choose to only train one mink at a time. Food seems to be the best motivator for animals. I guess people are sort of the same, since money- another kind of food- often best motivates us.
