Don't eat as many carbs as you like, but eat as many as you use. 😊

I improved my metabolism after doing a keto reset. It completely changed my life. I ran a marathon drinking water, eggs and bacon for breakfast before run. It was my first marathon age 52 time 4:30.
No gels or energy drinks or energy issues. I didn't have time to put in more hours for better time. And I doing care.
I can fast at work and feel fine doing production and it's physical work.
I think being metabolically flexible is important for mental health and fitness.
It depends on goals.
I don't train in a gym to look ripped.
I just get out, bicycle to work, and walk.

Went 3 months:
No sugar, no carbs, no dairy. I lost 50lbs. It was the best I ever felt. Trying to get back there again.

It's really very important to take electrolytes on a keto diet, especially when you first start. The "keto flu" is real, but it's just your body adapting from burning sugar to burning fat. I have always grazed all day until I went low carb/keto. It's so wonderful to be free of constant cravings! I eat 2 meals a day - no snacks - without suffering.

Cut out added sugars then eat anything else you want. I did this for non weight loss reasons and I went from 220 to 165 in a year.

I find that low carb and keto works the best for me paired with low intensity walking most nights like 3.5 mi, I actually get shredded and even look bulkier muscle wise

Everything depends on macros, electrolytes, and personal tolerance. I was able to lift heavy while eating 15g of clean high fiber carbs per day as long as my sodium was good 🤷🏻‍♀️ Every Body is Different!

According to Phinney and Volek who literally wrote the book on low carb athletic performance. Adaptation to the ketogenic diet takes months. They recommend off-season adaptation.

It takes 1-6 months for the body to adapt to a low carb or no carb diet fully. Performance is almost guaranteed to suffer in the first 30 days, let alone 3 days. After this period the body is far better at utilizing energy, especially for high intensity training

But my waight is staying down and i can maintain it my energy levels is fine so seems to be working fine for me.

Carbs make my joints ache! I also get lazier on carbs. This was not always the case, but I am in my 50's and this is the way it is now.

I've always been a 5x5 lifter. I went on keto for 3 months and my numbers absolutely plummeted. 0 explosive power. It was very frustrating and ended up quitting. That being said I had literally unlimited energy. I could do any low impact work from the time I woke until I went to sleep and had no fluctuation in energy or focus.

It takes about 3 weeks to get used to a new diet no matter what diet you do.

I have an intense run routine and I eat mostly fat, protein, and tons of greens. I've actually been training in a caloric deficit and doing great. If I load up on carbs it usually gives me worse performance. I think the major factor is I go for nutrient dense food.

I cut carbs as much as possible to keep my blood sugars within range and it works very well for me, that and fasting, (I’m a Type 1 Diabetic).
