Communication trumps compatibility because no one starts compatible, even someone who you think is almost similar to you. We can start out incompatible, but if there's communication and a commitment (willingness) to try your best then you grow compatible.

Compatibility is work. It won't work, if either of you don't want to work. It takes two to tango. Otherwise, this is a perfect scenario. However, a perfect scenario rarely works in real life, because real life is full of shades, and in order for a relationship to function, both a man and a woman need to, in a way work together, support each other, fulfil each other, respect each other, love each other, don't give up on each other, grow together, evolve together and keep it going. Otherwise, if either a man or a woman gives up, sooner or later a relationship fizzles out.
