Do you use the Jefferson curl? While I don’t have a problem with healthy individuals who like to use this exercise with light weight - I do have a problem with people incorrectly prescribing it as a back pain rehabilitation exercise. I have had many patients come to me who have seen some people on social media and/or rehab professionals in clinic who have been given this exercise when they are dealing with a flexion intolerance back injury. This is not wise.

the jefferson curl is something you progress to… starting off with it isn’t going to help. have a strong back extension and seated good morning first before you even think about doing them

Jefferson curl is very misunderstood. Never start with load. Start with basic stretching toe touches, back extensions, good mornings, once you can touch palms to the floor then very slowly add weight. Also even though spine is flexing you should still brace. That and side bends on back extension really helped my back pain! Just my 2 cents.

I find the double glute spread with snatch push-bang really helps my glutes

Jefferson curls were a big part of finally defeating my back pain. I've been doing them regularly for about a year now. difference being that I usually use a 5kg dumbbell and this guy starts with a 24 right away

I wouldn't bother with the Jefferson curl. Romanian deadlifts, ab wheels, and side plank clamshells are what fixed my low back and prevent it from flaring up again.

I have been doing jefferson curls for only 7 weeks and with lots of sets, my lower back feels better than ever and I think I'm a bit more flexible, every time I do it I decompress my spine so it cracks, I don't know how he injured himself doing them, and I don't know why at the start of the video the guy is using an elastic band with a kettlebell instead of just grabbing a dumbbell.

Wow. I only do Jefferson curls if other movements check out. Sumo, RDL, offset and stiff leg.
