What’s Causing Your Low Back Pain?

So low back pain is quite normal. In fact 80 percent of us will experience low back pain at some point in our lives. The vast majority of us will also go onto experience some type of lumbar disk herniation and/or pathology. We consider these things to be normal and actually like wrinkles on the inside as we age we get wrinkles on our exterior. We also get wrinkles on the inside which are completely normal throughout life. When looking at preventing and treating low back pain, we must start at the joint above and below the low back. In most cases the low back is the site of compensation and not the cause of lower back pain. By keeping your mid-back and your hips mobile, that allows the low back to remain stable and avoid injury. To properly access and treat low back pain, we must first identify the cause of your lower back pain. In most cases the low back is likely compensating for a joint that’s not moving well. But through a thorough assessment we can identify what segment is not moving well and prescribe the appropriate corrective exercise to reengage your proper muscle activation and/or mobility to treat. By keeping the hips and the mid-back loose and identifying which one is contributing to your symptoms we can help take away your low back pain and keep it from coming back.

I had that problem for the longest time, i got that lower back pain problem because of the nature of my job. I was a room attendant and it required me to bend, carry and move carelessly. It all went away when i met my wife. She’s a massage therapist and somehow knows how to crack bones like chiropractor does(i know she doesn’t have license on chiropractic ). She would pop my back and stretch it afterward. Somehow it worked and i don’t feel any discomfort at all.

I'm 17 and my lower back always hurt it's been like 3 months. At first I just keep ignoring the pain because maybe I am laying in my bed too much but then weeks, months pass. The pain keeps coming back every time I sneezed, I get something from the floor (Im having trouble getting something from the floor that I need to sit and get it I can't bend my back it really hurt.) Even when I'm sitting I can feel the tingling of pain on my lower back. The pain is sometimes not there but most of the time it's there 😭 gaawwddd help.

Strange observation - such a large percentage of the comments below have "I'm 17..." or some other very young number. Weird.

Back pain takes real conscious effort to eliminate. You can do the right exercises but if you fall back into old habits of lifting and or remaining in the same position it will come back. it happened to me.

I had the "normal" sharp very localized intervertebral pain, but now I get a new pain that happens only when I wake up in the morning and goes away after about 1 hour. It's spread over a larger area of the lower back. I believe this is caused by simply carrying heavier objects - even without lifting them. Perhaps at this point the intervertebral disc is no longer only bulging on one side but also crushing all around from the extra weight. At night I need to sleep on my chest with a medium pillow under my pelvis. This pain goes away after 5-10 days.

I’m having lower back pain... maybe not drinking enough water ... maybe drinking too much alcohol or soda pop without drinking enough water and then there’s bad sleeping habits... all of these can contribute without it being old age ...

Im laying on my back, knees bent, I try to push my hips up away from the bed but the pain is too horrible and it feels like I have no muscles anymore, cant perform this simple movement of lifting my ass up.
