Yoga Q & A! Hip Opener yoga poses stretch the legs, inner thighs, groins, hips and muscles of the back. I've been getting a lot of questions about hip issues and overall tightness in the hips. This is a great little stretch sequence that you can blend with your daily routine or supplement into a current yoga practice. Also yummy before bedtime!

I appreciate your willingness to talk about how you have some trouble yourself with this, and that one side is definitely easier to open than the other. It makes me feel a lot better about my own hips being asymmetrical in their stretchiness. 🙂

Question! I have a beautiful addiction to your videos Adriene, I can't thank you enough for your channel. Do you think you could squeeze in a chest/shoulder openers video? I'm trying hard to improve my posture, in particular stretch/open out my chest. And a shoulder openers intensive by you would do wonders! Be well and Namaste!

1 of 2 ~ Welcome to the family! Start now! With a deep breath in. BOOM. You have already started. Yoga is a mindset more than a workout! Approach your practice this way and be happy! Logistically, I recommend starting with our Foundations of Yoga series- where we break down each pose one by one- taking the time to slow down and talk with our bodies. EXPERIENCE each pose and as I like to say- find what feels good. Then try the morning sequence or Sun Salutation and see how you feel.

The best tip I can give you is to slow down and give it time. In time you will see and feel the space unfold - but dang it - these things take time. Sit up on a few blankets- throw some music on and let it unfold slowly. Let the breath nurture the tight spots and of course, ease up when you feel any pain. Time!!! xoxo

Day 9 and I'm feeling fine. I think I would recommend stretches for legs ( splits related) cuz I think I'm a bit weak in this area of flexibility. Thanks a lot Adriene. #ywaOPEN

WOW!
I just did this one for the first time and there is a lot of gurgling going on in my stomach, and release of gas, which is relieving the painful bloating I was experiencing! I had no idea doing yoga would be so powerful!
I want more of this! I will find how to start out and practice these gentle movements and poses that causes my body to respond so deeply. Feels really good. Feels right. Maybe getting old won’t be so awful if I can keep everything functioning in a natural way which means without drugs!
I appreciate that you are freely sharing this experience of your yoga. I came to you when I needed what you had just so perfectly - I don’t know how to say how this happened. ??? I am grateful.
