I noticed i fixed my sleep accidentally when i went tent camping for a week. I went to bed shortly night time and additionally some up right before sunrise like clockwork. felt incredibly rejuvenated.

Not drinking water before sleep (even a couple hours before) does NOT help prevent bed-wetting. I went through agony as a child because my mother tried that technique. Nothing she tried helped and I wet the bed nearly every night until the day after my 18th birthday when I entered a cloistered convent (something I had decided I wanted to do at the age of 7). I strongly believe the reason for my incontinence at night was because my childhood was extremely stressful (even though I had basically loving parents). Upon falling asleep at night I feel I was finally able to completely relax my entire body. BTW, I left the convent after two years. That two years of silence and prayer while having all my basic needs taken care of acted as a tremendous healer, restoring my mind, body, and soul from all the stress created by the schools and society at large.

After lots of trial and error, i came to a lot of the same conclusions and i'll share my sleep training with you. I listen to a lot of recordings of Jody Whiteley. I line up 3 recordings in a row, depending on what my current problem is, too much energy and irritability, depression, anxiety. First i take a short one with positive affirmations, then one of her bedtime stories and then an 8 hour one. She is now the voice of the night. I turn the lights off around the time the sky is still a very dark blue outside except 1 led light. Go shower in a very low light. Lay down, listen to the positive affirmations to force my brain into a positive mindset, and usually i don't even stay awake to hear the first sentence of the story. The 8 hours (for depression and anxiety, the orange one, very very good) play through the night. I find it important to mostly play the exact same recordings every day because they are familliar and then you are not straining yourself to listen to what she says. First i found it a silly thing to do, but it helps me so well. She has a pleasant voice and she is very involved with making you feel better. I think she also has everything available for download for you ipod, so you don't need to bother your spouse with it. The extreme sleeping problems i had, are now mostly gone. When i'm stressed out and slide back into insomnia, it usually doesn't take longer than 2-3 days to fix it. I refuse to take chemicals for anything non-lifethreatning, never have, period. Modern life is that's the problem. Not me. I am not drug deficient. Get yourself off those things.

I was recovering really well from lyme disease, when I worked myself too hard getting our house ready to sell(5 months), then was under extreme stress during the moving process(about 6 weeks). I crashed right after we moved. For the last year, I've been in a constant state of fight or flight, have brain fog, am dizziness and of course, can't sleep. I will try going to bed earlier, but my best sleep has always been between 4 and 8 am or 6-10 am. I'm seeing a chiropractor now and using k-laser and my inflammation has been greatly reduced, but I have a long way to go. Thank you so much for all your videos!

I'm guilty of many of the things listed on what not to do before bedtime..especially being on the computer for several hours at night...Makes sense. Thank you!

I like the Dr speches but, thr reason maybe some people put a thumb down is because the speech doesn't match the subject well. 47 minutes are spent on the problems with sleep, ablnd about2 minutes on the solutions. Dont take me wrong though, the information is great and i apreciate it.

I feel I’m in a bind ... I was on Xanax for some time, off 11 months. I have things on my mind I can’t let go of.
I’m now have tremors at night... dizzy and messed up during the day.

I’m not following the “he/she stopped taking their meds”? ... people on AD or Benzo can’t just stop.

🤨 ok so ... 21 days of 10:30 to 4:30 (6 hours) no naps. . .
BUT I only get 2-4 hours... 4 in a good night 😕

This is great, where have you been all my life? I don't sleep, my fault, I worry a lot. You think when your kids are grown your worries stop. NOT, then you worry about their kids and their kids kids. But help is on the way, I will definitely try your solutions. Blessings

Great to know. For environmental reasons, I have never slept well since I was a young child due to parents working late and living in noisy homes. At nearly 70 years of age, due to arthritis, osteoporosis, insomnia, possible celiac disease. I am just under 5 feet tall. However, when I was growing up, we did not know about proper nutrition, sleep. I also had dysfunctional family, emotional trauma. As an young adult, I worked late at night, stayed up late due to social life. On the genetic side, had and some very short relatives on the distaff side. My husband is an insomniac. Menopause and loss of hormones can make sleeping difficult and cause 3 am wake ups without getting back to sleep sometimes. No one mentions how reduced hormones affect sleep. For me it is a complex array of things.

It's so sad that we as a society do not listen to our bodies.. it tells us everything we need.. if we are sleepy we should go to sleep, if we are tired we should rest, if we are hungry we should eat, etc..
The problem is we stopped listening to our bodies.. Like now when we are tired, we get coffee instead 😒 I'm guilty of it myself due to my crazy work schedule but I wish I could live more naturally and listen to my body more.. It has all definitely taken a toll on my health 😟
