I've had sciatica in the past after breaking off part of my L5 disc. I had it return for the past 5 months, and have been unable to remedy or relieve the tightness and intense twinging nerve pain in my lower back no matter what stretches or movements I tried. After 10 seconds on one side, I could feel the immediate results from this stretch. This will be part of my morning routine now. Thank you, so much. I honestly was starting to think my back would never be back to normal.

Thanks SO MUCH Ms. Pransky!!! I have suffered lower left back pain for about 5 weeks. My brother is an awesome Chiropractor and alleviates much of my pain! But about a week ago, the pain also went down my leg to my foot and has caused me MUCH discomfort, especially at night when I am TRYING to get good sleep. 😬😒 I am SO HAPPY I found you here, and will follow your instructions. This is a fantastic stretch! I've been experiencing almost constant sciatic pain in my lower back & down my right leg and the only real relief I've been getting is with my inversion table. But that relief was only temporary because within 20 minutes of sitting again, the pain started coming back. But this stretch is different. It seems like it is giving me more permanent relief. Each time I do it, that area feels a little better and the pain is not coming back much at all. Thank you!

Thanks so much for sharing. I'm not too flexible right now (I don't stretch enough) and found this exercise to be quite difficult. Even so, I liked the feel afterwards and plan to try it some more.

I guess if you are ultra flexible this stretch works!! I had 17 hernias just trying to get into position.

Wow I mean how many of you (without yoga experience etc.) was able to first off get that right over like that and grab the left foot lol Im dying over here... thank you hopefully baby steps will allow to do this the correct way

This worked great! Struggled a bit to reach the ankles, but it definitely helped stretch my glutes, giving my back a release on pressure. I'm sure you can do the same thing not on your back, but in a cross-legged position (eliminates the need to reach the ankles).
