I never go past the 200m bend as a sprinters hurdles and long jump coach and athlete, I'm still competing with them its awsum it's the only way not to kill a sprinters future 😢

Running longer can be helpful to extents... typically if i want to run longer distance it's usually a sort of rest day which includes very light jogging to get ready for the second half of the week. You can't do sprint work all week because it leads to so much fatigue and overall lack of improvement. Long runs are fine for rest days aslong as it isnt intense and too long

If you are a track and field athlete in high school i see nothing wrong with a few 500m workouts at times. To much specialized training these days for athletes that should be doing longer events anyway

my coach makes sprinters run 800m for warmup and multiple other 800m runs totaling a few miles for a practice. how much does that hurt our speed? 100-200m runners btw

What's the ideal maximum duration of recovery jog as a sprinter? That would somehow still benefit aerobic and help burn extra stubborn fat but not pose slow twitch development that would conflict with fast twitch dominance of a sprinter

There definitely is a place for shocking the system by doing activities the body isn't accustomed to doing. The key is to allow recovery and adaptation.

I have one question is how 100 m and 400 m helps better and fastly improvement in 200 m event

Because 100 m from 18 to sub 12 second with 8 months above

400 m 100 second to 57 second within 6 to 7 months

But i do 200 m within one month means approx my timing goes 36 to sub 25 second

Only one month 36 to sub 25 in 200 m

Because i am not interested much in 200 m event i do only both events 400 m and 100 m

I am prof sprinter..i have 9 trains/week.... But i walk slowly 2x times per week with my dog ...2x 5km...tu and sat... It's bad😳😳😳😳???bad for high velocity????
