I quit smoking and started running in March 1980, at age 20. Haven't smoked since, and to this day I run three or four times a week, for a total of about 40 kilometers. I never tried a treadmill; I live close to the woods and some lovely trails, and I prefer to be outside, alone.

I am 79. I began running at 36. Now I mostly walk, but still run some and compete in the Michigan Senior Olympics 5k and 10k events. And the Flint Crim 10 mile and 20 minutes later the 5k. Last year I covered 1, 800. miles in the morning - this morning was a typical 8 1/2 mile (3 hours). I meet an 89 year old and cover over 2 miles with him. You produced an excellent vidio. Yes, the mental help is really a plus. I still enjoy riding my dirt and road motorcycles and water skiing. Running makes this possible. And backpacking into the Wyoming wilderness. Thank you.

I have been running consistently since 2010. I love the endorphins it creates. Positive thoughts are constantly running through my mind as I run. I’m able to come up with great ideas and solutions during my runs.

I'm 38, started using the treadmill, Speed at 3.0 for 40mins. I'm on week 2! I'm a chubby and really am willing to lose more weight because I want to be fit and in shape. I want to look good, feel good, and love myself. I am willing to become the greatest version of myself. Everybody pray for me that I keep it up and I will! Being healthy is everything to me. 🙂

Hot, cold, rain snow, Monday through Friday, gotta go.
That’s my motivation. No excuses. Running is a game changer and you can do it any time, any where. And once you get used to it, it’s easy and enjoyable.

I’m 24. stopped weight training and started running because my physique goals changed. I’ve been enjoying the challenge of running, it’s a huge mental battle more than anything. I surprise myself with how far I get on each run. I feel more confident, stronger, lighter and happier. Working towards a 10K. Wish me luck 🍀

Edit: included weight training back into my routine, running did NOT give me the physical results I wanted, but I’ve never been fitter!

I’m 75, just ran a 37 minute 5 k, which is good for me, but I train five days a week. I hope to get faster. A workout class has proven very helpful. The other three days I just run on a middle school track. I have not yet raced but looking forward to it. Wish me luck.

When I started running, I noticed that I became more and more happy... it was like cleared many of my thoughts... the sudden surge of energy changed my lazy mindset... also before running my sleep was always irregular.. but now I catch sleep right on time....my social phobia reduced.... I became more confident.... ✨

Yes I run, I try to run 10km everyday, I’ve done 568km this year. Running a lot this year is really helping me so far, I lost my mum in march, going for a run helps me balance how i feel mentally and Emotionally. I prefer to on run on the streets, I get to feel the beautiful nature more, the birds whispering in the morning, and more aware of my environment.
To top it all, i miraculously lost about 12kg in 4 months already.

I was overweight my whole life. At 23 I was close to 300 lbs. In January 2021 I discovered the magic of eating in a calorie deficit and getting in weight training with moderate cardio. At the time I was not running, but walking on the treadmill with a good incline and doing the elliptical. Nine months later and over 100 pounds down, I was on the treadmill one day walking and I felt the need to go faster. I wanted to feel the bounce of a jog, but I was scared. I got a Nike Apple Watch with Nike Run Club and it changed my life. For the first time I didn’t feel like running was a punishment or like I had to keep up with anyone. The coaching plans on there and the audio guided runs are so informative and our like therapy. They’re about so much more than running now I can run a 25 minute 5K or a 52 minute 10K, and I’m still working on getting even better! But it has changed my life for good and I am such a happier person now

I run 6 days a week. Outdoors. I get between 26-30 miles per week and started running consistently about 2 years ago. It really does change your life.

I used to hate running as a kid and teen. I started running in my mid 20's, and now at 26 I enjoy it more than any other exercise. I can't believe what I missed out on.

Thanks for this video!

I run for an hour every day. I was always running outdoors before I had my son, though being a parent meant less flexibility to just leave the house and run for 60 mins whenever I wanted to, so I've been using the treadmill to get by for years.

I stopped running on the treadmill a few months ago and began running outside again. Running outdoors definitely is more beneficial if you can run where the air is clean; the difference it makes to your body and ability is so deep in contrast. Running on a treadmill for years and my body barely changed if I wasn't also doing yoga. Running outdoors with steep hills, different terrain, and no yoga; my body shape has already changed and my core strength is so much better. I'll never go back to running on a treadmill now that my son is old enough to leave at home on his own for an hour. Running outdoors in amongst nature is so much better!
