I love the fact that this is straight to the point, encourages accountability, and looks at the same problem with different angles. Solid advice. Thanks!

I’ve lost 80 pounds, down to 220 and I’ve been here for about 3-4 weeks. It’s my fault I’ve been eating more cause I was exhausted from my diet. Losing weight is a mind set more than anything. Stay active and have discipline you guys can do it too!!

I’ve hit a plateau after losing 30 pounds and have been at 140 lb’s even for 3 months now. Real difficult plateau but I’m going to try and add weight training in and see where I go.

I’m down 27 pounds and I’ve been stuck here for about two months, after consistent weight loss. It’s been super frustrating.

Another thing I like to do, especially if I have been cutting for a while, usually 12 weeks or more, is to eat at or very slightly above maintenance for a week to give my metabolism time to sort itself out a bit. This will rarely to lead to any more than a pound of weight gain, but can allow you to go back to losing weight again after the week without having to reduce calorie intake or increase activity.

Obviously there will come a point where one or both of your two tips are necessary, but I prefer to delay that as long as possible. Having once weekly or fortnightly days of eating at maintence can help to slow down any metabolic changes in the first place, which would hopefully avoid reaching a plateau for a little longer, but sometimes a week or longer at or very slightly above maintence is needed to get your metabolism back on track.

With many of these things it depends how much time you have available, but it is usually better to allow as much time as possible to shed the fat.

Stuck at 138-140 for a couple months. At least I’m not gaining but I’m not loosing either. Golf season will be starting so I’ll definitely be more active. Also with the nice weather will give me a chance to do some gardening, going on trails, swimming, etc.

Going from 272.5 to 249.1, After week 6, I am at 249 in a plateau for 4 weeks now.... :( Beyond frustrating... I added a gym membership so we shall see how that goes. The journey is hard but worth it, good luck to you all! :)

I lost 5kg really quickly but now even though I am weighing food and tracking in a diary, it is 3 weeks since I lost any weight. I will try cutting 100 calories as you suggest and increase activity. I hope it works! Thanks.

I have been keeping under 1, 500 calories and started jog/walking 5 miles a day and still haven’t lost weight. I’m getting frustrated

I am currently 209 pounds, down from 235 in March. I started off eating about 2500 calories per day and over the months I steadily reduced daily calories until two or three weeks ago, my target is about 1800. I workout 5 days a week (3 days lifting, 2 days running). I've been losing between 7 and 9 pounds of weight per month. The last month I am now sitting on about 2 pounds lost, primarily because I've been stuck between 208 and 210 for the last two weeks. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I remember this happening when I did this years ago. I started at 225, hit 200 pounds and stopped losing weight for several weeks. I gave up and gained all the weight back. I am determined not to give up again and I'm still pushing.

It's been good so far because I eat modestly well- a bowl of "healthy" cereal like Honey Nut Cheerios or Raisin Bran in the morning, typically a chicken noodle soup for lunch, and plain chicken breast with broccoli and rice for dinner. On workout days I have a protein shake of milk and vanilla protein powder. And I'm pretty regular- I have no qualms about eating the same thing day after day. I rather enjoy the routine. And I'm certainly not starving- I eat my fill and feel satisfied after every meal and have no cravings between. I do not have nor do I want to have any cheat days. Since I started this journey, I deviated from my nutrition twice. Once to get a ridiculous 1500 calorie BBQ bacon cheeseburger, and the second time because we went to a faire and I enjoyed myself a little there, too. The plateau is extremely discouraging considering how rigidly I've been sticking to my plan. But like I said, I won't give up. I absolutely have to get myself back under 200 pounds again while I'm still young, vital, and healthy enough to do it. And the clock is ticking.

I’m down 41 pounds in 4 and a half months. I went from 376 to 335. I’ve only lost 1 pound in the past 2 weeks. It’s frustrating. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting (20hr fast/4 hour eating window. Exercise 5-6 days a week (3 miles/HIIT Workout videos). My daily intake ranges from 1700 to 2, 000 calories with less than 60g of carbs a day, it may be difficult to consume more healthy calories in 4 hour eating window. Sundays are my cheat days . Any suggestions to defeat this plateau? Help
