I’m gonna be real, doc. All the studies in the world haven’t helped me and probably won’t. What I have is an addiction and I need help. Sugar should be a Schedule I drug. If I could enter rehab for sugar I would in a heartbeat.

My mother’s quality of life was ruined by sugar. Obesity, severe depression, dental issues, diabetes II, dementia and early death. Being a first hand witness, I believe I can speak for her - It wasn’t worth it!!!

Hi Dr. Berg, I watched your sugar video in May 2023, I quit sugar the next day. I also followed everything you said. It is now December 2023 and I have lost 52 lbs and feel fantastic and everything you said happened. In August, I was down 30lbs and had my yearly Dr. appointment with bloodwork. I went from being sickly, obese and having borderline diabetes with 200 plus cholesterol. I am now slim, healthy and my cholesterol dropped 50 points. My doctor was amazed, but applauded me. I’ve since sent your video to my sister who is down 27 lbs and my 81 year old father who was a diabetic. He is now down over 30lbs and no longer needs his insulin. He said he has never felt better and most of his aches and pains drastically lessened. Thank you from the 3 of us. You basically saved our lives.

When I was told I had pre cancer cells in my uterus but I had to wait 4 months before I could get that hysterectomy… I QUIT all sugars. Cancer feeds on sugar. So, 4 months later after the removal, and biopsy, my Dr said “wow, we didn’t find any of those pre cancer cells !” 😮😅😉

I quit sugar on September 1st and transitioned onto a raw plant based lifestyle. Now, 30 days sugar-free and feeling great. But days 15 - 18, I felt like I was going through a drug withdrawal and it was horrible. I pressed in and with the power of prayer i got through that horrible part. I will never eat sugar again to avoid those withdrawal symptoms. SUGAR IS THE ACCEPTABLE LEGAL DRUG THAT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT IS KILLING YOU, WHILE IT IS. Desserts spelt backwards = stressed. Sugar is a toxic body stressor.

Former sugar addict here. Haven’t had sugar in 3 weeks. The withdrawals are real and had a mental fight to stay away from it. Candida in my gut also makes craving worse. Going to continue loving myself.

My A1C shot up and I gave up sugar on 15th May 2023.

I listened to hours of Dr. Berg and Dr. Ekberg, and started to do an 18-20 hour intermittent fasting routine, in addition to a complete halt of sugar intake, started to do regular 40-50 min light workouts, I'm not on a strict keto but I'm on low carb

No rice no potato, no fuit, no high glycémic index foods

I've also started to eat my meals in a fiber protein and carb order.

Four months, ten kilos lighter, feel good. I'm not even trying to lose weight

I'm just doing what I can to reverse insulin resistance

And it's been an epiphany

I was a chemist runner at a sugar factory in WY. The chemicals used to get the sugar out of the sugar beets, are serious chemicals.
That in itself makes you not want to eat it.

Eliminating sugar from my diet was easier than I thought. And what a difference it made. I agree that sugar and alcohol are the two worst things you can put into your body.

Dear Dr. Berg, thanks for the vital info on sugar!! In 2019 when I was addicted to M&M's, McDonald shakes, and other junk food, my sister, a nurse, stayed with me for a week so that I could completely detox from sugar and all junk food. I was sick for the first 3 days, but got better each day afterward. Still to this day, I never consume sugar, white flour, or any processed foods. I never have to count calories, I don't gain weight, and never go hungry.

I remember back in 1997 255lbs at 32 when Sugarbusters was released, I immediately adjusted and lost 55 lbs, and here we are in 2023 and Ive lived it since, weighing in at 185 and feeling like I am still twenty years younger. People need to listen to your content Dr Berg, you are saving lives with every new video.

quit sugar 30 years ago...cold turkey...and i was pretty much a sugar junkie..i was drinking 4-5 arizona teas a day..sweet teas, ice cream galore, coke,pepsi you get the picture..i read an article about the dangers of sugar and the best way to do it was cold turkey...so on a friday i stopped...i'm here to tell you for 3 days i had the worst headache i ever had in my life..i literally could not move...i'm 62 rarely if ever get sick lift and exercise daily...had covid for only around 12 hours and was fine..i think diet is the key to health...period...i drink lots of teas i.e.. green, moringa hawthorne berry..and lots of water...the only real sugar i get is from fruit and local organic honey...i know your a keto guy and i respect that however i do basically a Mediterranean based diet....and also enjoy your channel..

I gained 60 pounds after an accident to a total of 338. My leg and foot were destroyed. Tons of pain. Watching your videos helped lead me to ask my own doctor about a ketogenic diet. Even being a more plant based person himself, he absolutely recommended it if I stayed the course and made it a change in lifestyle rather than a temp plan to lose 15 pounds. Well, I am little over 15 pounds down, I'm eating until im content and without feeling physically awful after. I look forward to my next healthy keto meal. I drink a protein shake as a snack. Once every couple of weeks I'll have some thai curry wings. I don't even feel like it's a diet. It's just the way I eat. Foot/leg have had a great improvement, energy is up, MOOD, huge boost in my well being!

I quit smoking and alcohol 349 days ago. I quit all grains/sugars/carbs/seed oils/gluten/weat/vegetables and bread 103 days ago. I have lost 47 pounds and feel so much better. I can not begin to list my other health benefits. I was forced to make drastic changes due to an autoimmune condition. I exercise and intermittently fast every day. 51-year-old male in the UK. As you try to eliminate sugar from your diet, it becomes clear that sugar is everywhere and difficult to avoid. After you've managed to avoid it for long enough, it's amazing how your sensitivity to sweetness becomes more acute.

I watch all your videos, I try, I work on cutting carbs and going full keto, intermittent fasting, and appear to be skinny. The desire to eat ice cream, candy, cookies is as powerful as wanting 3 glasses of wine every single night. They are hard habits to break. Thank you for the continuing encouragement.

I'll be 65 in 2 weeks. Six weeks ago I was 185 lbs, 6 ft. tall. Only 20 lbs more than when graduating High school. Exercise 6 to 7 days a week for 45 minutes. Healthy as a horse. I was actually searching for information about diabetes to help advise my best friend that has diabetes when I first saw Dr. Berg's videos on Youtube about the dangers of sugar. I was shocked how I had missed this fact all these years. I thought I had it all figured out. I immediately stopped all sugar and carbs. Started the Mediterranean Keto diet. So did my wife. In six weeks I lost 10 pounds, she lost 12 pounds and feel fantastic. Thanks Dr. Berg!! Now I'm shooting for living to be 100 HEALTHY!!
