Stretching is part of most athletes' routines, it helps to prevent injuries and maintains the desired range of movement at our joints. It is however eternally debated as to how much you should do and exactly how you should do it.

Static and dynamic stretching have their place but need to be used in the correct scenarios in order to experience the benefit. So let’s take a look at the difference and when to use a dynamic or static stretch.

I have very tight hip flexors and hips in general. A video specifically targeting these areas would be great!

As a runner i used to have all sorts of problems with my hamstrings. I do an overall body stretch after my runs. Then i read that stretching the hams isn't really good. So i don't stretch my hams anymore during my stretching routine but i foam roll them twice a day. And my problems are gone ! I don't know why but i'm totally pain free now

what do you think about skipping static stretching and only do dynamic stretching? ...i don't know how to implement static stretching in my daily routine

I like the inclusion of yoga here, maybe we need runner/cyclist specific sessions on here. I've started using yoga for releasing some of the muscular tightness and just mental recovery from the training, namaste :)

If I am already flexible enough to do the splits should I stop stretching to make myself less flexible? I do not really do much to try to maintain this level of flexibility, I am just naturally very bendy.
