People with the genetic mutations called Lynch Syndrome should be screened ever 1-2 years. Would've been nice if you mentioned the difference for those with a hereditary mutations leading to a greater risk of colon cancer. I know someone who has an 86% increased risk of colon cancer due to Lynch Syndrome and has been screened every 1-2 years since about age 30, it's very difficult with medical billing sometimes because they don't want to bill as preventative care (one doctor even refused to change the billing code as preventive care despite documentation of Lynch Syndrome). 3 of the colonoscopies found a pre-cancerous polyp well before age 45. I hope you'll do a short about Lynch Syndrome and other mutations. This person lost a LOT of family members to colon cancer before they knew they had the mutation (mother, grandfather, etc.) If more people get tested for the mutation, more lives can be saved with early screenings for highest-risk individuals.

I'm 48 and just had my 4th colonoscopy. Started at 38 since my mom's first colon cancer diagnosis (yes she's had it twice and both times caught in time thru colonoscopy) was when she was 49. So far, around 20 polyps removed. I preach colonoscopies to everyone! 📣 Even though I can no longer tolerate the traditional prep with colyte🤮 Can we find a better way?

Do you have a video about the risk of narrowing colon? or one with information about endometriosis in the colon. or a combination of both, even better. a video about a narrowing due to endometriosis in the large intestine. 😅

My Mum, my grandmother on my Mums side, two of her sisters, my Dad, both his parents, three of his brothers, and his sister have ALL had (died/remission) or currently have cancer.

As such it’s a when not if in my book and yeah colon and bowel cancer have shown up in that list multiple times including my father.

When should I start getting checked? I am 31 but I already think I need to start getting checked

Could you do a longer video about the evidence for colon cancer screening? I'm all for preventative healthcare but I wouldn't mind seeing how the actual numbers stack up, 45 seems a touch young for broad spectrum screening given colonoscopy, like anything, has risks attached to it (obviously happy to be proven wrong by numbers)

I had a sister with colon cancer in her 30s and began getting a colonoscopy in my 30s, and after moving to a new city, I got my 5 year screen at a new gastroenterologist. It states on my chart that I my colonoscopy was not for "high risk for colon cancer." Is this correct?

My grandpa was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 75 and his doctor said his kids didn’t need to get screened any earlier than normal because of how old he was when he was diagnosed. They are all now over 45 so they all get screened as normal so whatever the answer it won’t change how my mom and her siblings are doing things, but I’m just wondering if that was a good recommendation or not from the doc?
