OTC probiotics aren't regulated by the FDA, but Vowst is an approved prescription medication for preventing recurrent C. diff and is a probiotic at heart.

Multiple studies that show the amount of fiber in ones diet has an inverse relationship with all cause mortality across age cohorts and there doesnt seem to be a limit to how much one can benefit within reason. Fiber is the way.

The issue is they are classified under supplements which isn't closely regulated by the FDA. They might not be active or contain what they say they contain.

I have IBS-D and seem to need to stay far away from probiotics that also contain prebiotics. :/

Not going to remember everything so you might know what Im talking about. Was told if had Cdif or active infection taking probiotics can seep and get into organs and cause bad issues. If that makes sense I forgot the exact reasons but it would be bad in a certain circumstance say a cardiac heart failure director out in Boston # 1 hosp.

What about for someone who recently had SIBO (and took a round of antibiotics) and is on a restrictive diet due to food intolerances? I am going to follow my own med team's advice regardless, but wanted to know if you recommend them for us non-average people or if you still would just recommend foods high in good bacteria.

I have started eating kimchi and why it has increased gas, my belly hasnt felt better jn a long while. I eat a small side of it 3 days a week (or i reolace half the seasoning packet in my ramen with yummy kimchi)

i was taking S boulardii in India- didnt get sick, I probably have IBS and i took it and i had less constipation and no diarrhea with teh foods

What is something I can take/do as a gay bottom to help me to have healthier stools, that make me ready for sex easier. What I mean by that is stool that is not soft and comes out all at once in one piece. Very serious question and hope somebody responds.

But- why not discourage them if you can just eat stuff that’s good for your gut like pro and pre biotics? Is it a mentality thing? I know it’s not doing any harm but it seems like a waste of time and effort for no actual results.

To be fair - I'm sorry - but you "forgot" the obvious reason good gut flora gets killed off - antibiotics.
I was trying to figure out how much pharma has a grip on you - I think I just figured that out 👍
