Look in the herbal tea section of your grocery store for inexpensive choices of peppermint, spearmint, mixed mints & ginger teas. Carefully research "peppermint oil" because many are not food grade quality.

My poor husband suffered from some kind of very acidic, sour stomach for several years. Peppermint tea soothed the cramping. Its absolutely worth a try.

Peppermint CBD oil has been helping me when my IBS is terrible, but it really does set off my gerd. I've found a balance if I chew some tums first.

My sister and brother absolutely swear by mint. We have a history of GI issues, and mint has made all the difference for those two. I’m allergic to it, unfortunately, but it makes me happy knowing that it isn’t just a placebo effect for my siblings.

Yes! And thank you for acknowledging that we do, in fact, have data on herbs.
As a trained herbalist, it’s not like we (and the multitude of generations before us) are just going around blind guessing.
Not a huge fan of the single isolated constituent (essential oil), though. That’s where you get more in the way of side effects relative to the whole herb.

If you have too much, it can make things tingly coming back out again 😂

I’m not sure if I have ibs but I have had gut issues my whole life (from chronic migraines causing chronic nausea in my childhood to now just having chronic nauseous episodes as well as gastrointestinal issues) and the best 2 things I’ve ever used to help the cramping? Tums antacid and gas chews and peppermint gum, especially something that’s very strong like Extra

I found this out the hard way. I suffer with both IBS and GERD. I can only use mint if my IBS is flaring, it's a balancing act. The moment I get the first hint of "chest pain" my bowels are on their own 😊

I was eating 3 mini peppermint patties every night after dinner for months. Had heat burn. Instead of asking me what i ate the Dr put me on 40mg of prilosec twice a day. Thats 5he stronest dose of the strongest medicine. Why?. Now i know the severe side effects of that terrible drug and what the actual cause was I'm pissed at my dr. Former dr. 🤬

I tried this, unfortunately the side effect hit me hard and it gave me some of the most horrific heartburn I'd ever had. Thought I was going to barf all day long.

Can’t do the mint thing. Mum treated us with mint tea when we were kids, and now it makes me gag. Same is true for peppermint candy and mint gum. I’m o.k. with mint toothpaste, maybe that’s ‘cause it’s not really the same smell/taste. Oh, and I like mint sauce which is made with mint and malt vinegar, usually to serve over lamb – maybe it’s because of the vinegar that I like it. 🤷‍♀️

I need peppermint drops to reduce my throat irritation and coughing, but it hurt my acid reflux. It's pretty hard to balance it, especially that the reflux is the main issue for my throat irritation.

Mint gives me gas when my tummy bothers me. LOL!
Ginger is also good for an upset stomach.
