SIBO used to not be seen as real by a lot of the medical community. Since then, they have learned it most definitely is. Just goes to show that there’s lots more to discover in the world of medicine, especially the gut.

Why dont doctor test for this more often. My doctor told me i had ibs but didnt do any other test to see if it was anything else

I just got tested for something like this. I had to blow into a bag. Then drink a sour drink and blow into another bag.

My doc said the tests can mean lots of things and that SIBO is one of those “rule out everything else” diagnoses. Can you clarify if that’s true?

Dont forget about hydrogen sulfide SIBO. Most tests dont check for it. You can be negative for hydrogen and methane but stull have hydrogen sulfide.

I might be diabetic but my doctors are quacks and my employer refuses to let me take a day off to test for these kinds of things with a gastroentenologist.

Unless your 4 gi doctors never do any test. Columbus ohio has no gi doctors that will help.

Question: if there's no bacteria in the small intestine, why is there bacteria in the large intestine? I thought the small intestine had some bacteria in it.
