I want to add that when you get a positive Cologuard, you want to get that colonoscopy done as soon as possible. Do not wait a year letting possible colon cancer grow then have to get a portion of your bowel removed along with other possible cancer therapy.

I got a colonoscopy and endoscopy recently. They said my tract was healthy. But they found scars or something mucus-like in my lower stomach. They diagnosed me with mild chronic inactive gastritis. I have no idea what that means.😅

Be aware, this test is a stool DNA test, and some insurance may not be authorized. I work in a medical laboratory and run into this on occasion where patients are inquiring about these DNA kit tests, especially for PCR testing, where insurance is denying paying for these tests on the grounds it is DNA testing. In a few instances, the patient was informed that the insurance will not cover DNA testing at all, however once it was figured out that they meant like 23 and me type screens or the like. Apparently DNA testing is a touchy subject for some insurance companies.

My Cologuard test showed abnormalities. The colonoscopy showed everything was fine.

Cologuard has an extremely high number of false positives. More concerning, a large number of faults negative. People are just better off getting a colonoscopy.

My mom wants me to see a woman with a “Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine” from Bastyr University. I’m worried that she’s going to waste hundreds or thousands of dollars to try and fix me (I’ve got Tourette Syndrome, CIDP and UCTD). I wish she’d just accept that this is kinda just my life now and learn to adjust like I am. Any thoughts?

You should get a better mic. A doctor with over half a million subs should be able to afford it. No hate, just a suggestion. Love the content.
