I didn't really notice i have most of these traits until i got back from war. They are extremely useful in that environment if they can be tempered with honer and selflessness but they don't serve vary well in civilian life. Kinda just staying on my own trying to work on myself for the most part because i realize my personality can be difficult for people to deal with and trying hard to be better. But its a slow process.

As a person diagnosed with this, i can say its a blessing and a curse. but it doesnt mean your going to go out and hurt ppl, you just dont give a rats a$$ about them, the ones that are close to you, you will protect because there mine, like my favorite watch or shirt. might form close bonds with a pet, does good in a manager/supervisor position, because your sad personal life just doesnt matter to me and im hyper focused on my job and the job you should be doing. We learn how to act and fit in, can be the most charming, sweetest ppl you will ever meet, that kind grampa type person next door, but we give our selfs away with our lack of feelings because its hard to act out some things that you've never felt. but im 45 now and im fine, married, have kids, wife knows what i am, she knows id never hurt her or my kids, she understands i see her as mine, and i dont brake my things. she also knows if something happened id probably not feel much. it is what it is. its very hard to explain. i also dont like ppl much, probably why i live rural, remeber very few ppl like this hurt others. in the end we hurt our selfs. but this lay has it down fairly good in a blanket covering way. we most definitely have long term goals, but get caught up in short term stuff, sort of like shiney thing lets go get that and forget we shoukd be building a nest. yep zero cares for social norms, laws, etc, but we know how to act to fit in.

I do believe this describes my ex. And through all this time, I’ve really denied this to myself. Thank you so much, Elizabeth. I’ve tried to make sense out of someone that didn’t make sense. And I’m just coming to grips that I loved someone for all those years. It was hard to be real in his fake world. But on a lighter note, almost 2 years no contact, even through a divorce! I have three more years on a protective order remaining… I’ll keep you posted on what happens after he can contact me. For him no contact was mortification. Today is a good day… 🎶It’s a new Dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me, and I’m feeling good🎶🙌🙌
