School makes students deal with burnout... And then the next day they expect us to feel okay or interact more after heavy loads of work

8: It may take years to get out of a burnout
9: You may end up permanently damaged - your stress tolerance may be permanently reduced for example
10: Burnout is a form of depression, or at least close to depression - so slipping into a serious depression out of a burnout is easy.
All in all, a burnout may cost you a decade of your life or even more, as it did with me. Take care of your mental health guys, this is no laughing matter.

*The fact they used Genshin as the cover art while there's so much happening in the Genshin community...*

This is describing me too accurately and it’s genuinely really depressing and relieving slightly because at least there’s a term for how i constantly feel, try and ask your friends or people you know showing these symptoms just invite them to do something, it will really help even if it’s just a walk. I hope everyone watching is okay and not dealing with this awful feeling ❤️

I've been overpushing myself and almost fainted two days ago being stressed out over something, burnout is real, we need to take more precautions to help ourselves get the rest we really need.

I live in a constant cycle of burnout-healing-slowly stressing out-burnout. That happens because of the pressure and how my university/teachers organize the semester. If you are in a similar situation, please, p l e a s e, take care of your mental health. Even if you think you aren't gonna make it, take a day off; do something fun and relax. Something that's been helping me a lot is not doing thins alone; I've been asking for help when I need, and been doing my assignments and projects whitg the company of friends, so I don't stress as much.

Despite doing literally nothing this is pretty much accurate on what’s been currently going on. It’s only been a few months since I’ve graduated and despite having everything planned out and being super excited for it. My first steps into actual adulthood is already having a more than rough start. I don’t even know why I’m stressed or possibly in this case, burnt out, since I haven’t been doing much at all. Maybe these confusing feelings about adulthood are normal? Especially if you’re just starting out in it. But it still doesn’t make sense to me as to why I’m feeling as horrible as I am.

I graduated high school earlier this year, back in May.
I got so burnt out, and it built up so much in the last 6 years of school, that I went through a full mental breakdown.

It made it so I couldn't do even things that I loved. I tired out easily playing video games, couldn't read fanfiction (or any manner of written work, for that matter, with specific exceptions), couldn't listen to music (YouTube locking effective music playing behind paywalls didn't help), couldn't do any chores, had a mental block that made it impossible to so much as process the homework I'm looking at if I even manage to open it… you name it I lost it. It reduced me to watching YouTube and using Discord and browsing… certain sites.

This was ONLY possible because I graduated, and my parents are letting me have a year off from doing anything and having a year before I get a job, because my parents are letting me rest for so long.

I'm still recovering. I've started to regain the ability to do some chores, I have reignited my joy for listening to music, I have started going shopping or to restaurants with my family again, I can read things like news articles, I'm even able to play video games for longer and longer sessions.

Still can't read fanfiction, still don't listen to music for long sessions, can't read books, still tire out really easily and quickly doing chores… still recovering, 7 months later.

Currently I'm building a computer, and once I have that computer finished, and have a computer all to myself that can do pretty well anything, a lot of stuff is going to open up to me. I want to explore hobbies like art, music making, game development, coding, YouTube content creation, I want to FINALLY be able to play pc games, I want to get emulators so I can play retro games without paying hundreds of dollars to collectors for them… so many things I want to do. I think easing into some hobbies can help me with my burnout some.

I hope I can finish recovering before my parents finally push me into a job.

Love Ghibli and Genshin references.

Honestly, the one I relate to the most is the fantasy sign. When I'm overwhelmed, it isn't hard for my mind to just slip to another world entirely. In the figurative sense that is. It's not uncommon for my mind to just draw a blank and my thoughts immediately go to a fantasy, whether it's someplace real with people who are real or if it's a fictional place with fictional people, my mind will slip wherever it can when I get burnout.
