You just inadvertently validated every caffeine addict in their own minds.

I stoped ingesting caffeine and my days are much better. No mid afternoon crash, I sleep through the night, more energy throughout the day, etc. I’ve replaced caffeine in the morning with a cold shower, 15 minutes of sunlight, and a 30-45 minutes workout

Am I wrong in thinking that the boost in adrenaline may be detrimental to those with anxiety disorders? Is this why caffeine inflames an anxiety condition so much?

I love coffee ☕️ however, with tachycardia. I have to be careful. Everything you said I believe, is absolutely a fact.

Is there any link to his full explanation? Anyone? I'd like to know what that means with the dopamine activation, since the role its playing in happiness is just one of many other effects, dopamine has on the body

Probably why as someone with ADHD I can't get enough of it.

What happens to these receptors when you quit? And are more receptors purely beneficial?

This is great info, I've always been afraid of developing a caffeine addiction like almost everyone I know. But hearing this makes me feel less bad about an energy drink every now and then. Especially realizing the one I prefer only has 200 mg of caffeine.

Woohoo! Now I understand why I'm ending up at our Sydney Casino most days. They make a great Mocha & I have at least 16ounces, sometimes 32 ounces or more. Then I'm primed for gaming and live entertainment, great meals....it's dopamine stacking heaven for a middle aged matron...but it's increasing my sociability & maybe explains why I'm buying more tickets to Rock gigs too....

Would 250 ml of caffeine everyday for a year reduce my sleeping time to -5 hours that are actually required to do everything I have to in a day?

Does that mean that a dopamine crash has a higher effect on coffee drinkers? Thus depression is more likely amongst coffee drinkers?

What if you eat it instead of drinking it?

"It's going to make you feel more alert and energetic"

When? I definitely do not feel that from caffeine.

actually caffeine makes you build up more and more adenosine receptors - as they are built similarly to where the caffeine docks on. thus you need more and more caffeine for the same result whereas the adenosine cannot be cleared up properly - thus resulting in major sleepiness and crashing throughout the day after even just a slim bit of caffeine effect wearing off.
ditch the caffeine. regret it for 4-6 weeks. come out a better version of yourself. you are not anxious to get ur first coffee. ur not tired in the morning and most and foremost youll have ALOT higher energy levels.

guess the neuroscientist only wants to highlight one portion or doesnt know biochemistry...

is that daily? How regular is that amount supposed to be? (The 100-250 mg)

What about when regular coffee causes lots of shaking and quickly moves into a panic attack?

I drink max 2 coffee or tea cups a day and try not to drink any after 4pm works for me 😊

Yes and depending on your diet the caffeine can be the reason you don't sleep

100 to 200mg of caffeine is a lot of caffeine for a day

for example, a 250ml can of red bull has ''only'' 80mg of caffeine

i cant imagine saying 2 redbull cans per day is a healthy dose of caffeine
