The problem with drinking espresso is that a week later, you’re sleepy again.

How much "should you drink" is a loaded question. Caffeine is not a staple in nutrition and caffeine being a stimulant causes crashes and can even stress your heart. You do not need caffeine from a nutritional standpoint. For energy balancing your nutritional needs and getting your B vitamins and proper amount of iron can be more efficient and healthier.

But don't drink it until 90 mins after waking. Do that and you avoid the afternoon crash.

Caffeine never did much for me but it made it harder to sleep. But the doctor told me not to take it so I stopped except occasionally I eat a bit of chocolate.

After hearing these ideas from Prof Hubernan, my kids subjected me to the music from Encanto. In one of the lines, some kids are bouncing off the walls with energy. One of the kids says (effectively), “give us something to do; we’ll do anything.” The main character says, “and that’s why coffee is for adults.”
So tell me, is coffee for adults in that adults can better control the energy boost; or is it that coffee is for adults because coffee aids in doing things without concern for what is being done. If coffee increases dopamine uptake, then it would make menial tasks more enjoyable; right?
Thanks, Disney.

Is cafein later in the day still problematic if you have no trouble falling asleep ? Or does it screw up your sleep anyway ?

I drink too much. 2 cups in the morning and 2 in the afternoon to beat the late day slump. I get headaches, but I don't have much choice.

Man I drink one small coffee and I'm bouncing off the walls and bad pressure in my eyeballs. I wish I could deal with caffeine

Or just don't drink any coffee at all,
.
I am obese and have horrible habits,
.
Have not consumed coffee for over 15 years, I still wake up with all the energy I need for the day.
.
Coffee does have it's one time uses Wich should be medicated, not taken as food with milk and sugar every day.
