Be careful how much and how frequently you use this. The salicylic acid also acts as a blood thinner. This can cause you to bruise easily and make it difficult to stop open injuries from clotting.

friends of mine kept honey bees that gathered pollen from their willow thicket and a fennel patch. The bees, black, licorice tasting honey helped with headaches and cramps

The comments have taught me that the point of this remedy has been largely missed. If you have no access to painkillers then this is a natural source, its not replacing pills wholesale whilst society still exists

I work in an Emergency room and last week we had a guy who overdosed on Aspirin. His kidneys deteriorated and he had to have emergency dialysis several times throughout the next few days. His mental state deteriorated to the point that he tried to run out of the hospital when I told him he had to go to the ICU. He stopped comprehending what was going on, he couldnt tell us what was wrong, what was happening, or where he was. The only things he knew were his name, he knew that he was afraid, and he knew that he felt awful. He would have died if not for dialysis. Be careful while doing this. You have no way to regulate the amount of salicylic acid that you're ingesting. Maybe just bring a bottle of aspirin with you so you know you're getting a therapeutic dose. However, it would be incredibly interesting to make a batch and to send it into a lab to test it for the salicylic acid level. Now that would be cool!

I truly appreciate you. I'm so glad that you have all of this natural information on medicines. Thank you for sharing your videos. Please, keep up the good work 👏.

I love the succinct nature of this channel's videos. There is no long drawn out coverage of all of the steps. This one, though, missed the ailment this medicinal brew is supposed to address. I feel it would help with morning camp breath.

The two, bitter but works, seems to go hand in hand. I take kratom, 10 years now, since a doctor stopped my opiods. It does help control my pain. It tastes terrible! I used to "toss and wash", now I take capsules. Nothing stops it completely, at least not and still leave me awake. (Yes, Dr. Kreger, you were right) This is on my list of want to try's. I want a natural blend that will give me as much of my life back as possible.

Also, the salicin you get this way is not processed in your stomach, but in your large intestine. The benefit of that is that it doesn't thin your blood like aspirin does. It does take a little longer than aspirin to relieve pain, but it's way more effective! I heard of a study where it was shown to relieve pain more effectively than morphine. Great video!

what he says is no joke. My 2 mares are crazy for this bark. They bite it down from branches with surgical precision, nothing is left behind. Scary but true.

It’s crazy to me about how people figured this stuff out. Like some random person 600 years ago was like “let’s boil this bark and see if will have any medicinal properties” it’s fascinating man I love this stuff

Salicylic acid, aspirin derivative. 👍🏼 very good topically for any skin problem as well

Great to know that any variety of willow will work. Thanks

I use Willow bark (bought from store) that has the outer bark removed and it is not remotely bitter in my Meads. As noted before, probably less bitter if you do that.

Wow this just brought back a lot of memories for me! I first learned about willow bark tea from Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman 😄 Awesome video!

It would probably be less bitter if you removed the bark
