How to make 'squats' work for you - Herbalife Fit Tips

I'm Samantha Clayton, fitness expert and former competitive sprinter. I'm working with Herbalife to help you achieve a healthy, active life.
Why Squat? Squatting is a functional movement of everyday life. Getting up off a chair, out of the car and, in my case, picking up toys from the floor all involve a squatting action. Adding squats to your daily routine may help strengthen your muscles joints and tendons; this added strength can make the simple tasks of daily living easier.
Stretch: standing quad stretch.
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and use a chair for balance if you need to. Bring your leg back as if you are going to kick your butt and take hold of your ankle.
Hold in this position and feel a stretch down the front of your leg. I will show a regression and a progression of this move.
If you think squats are boring, believe me when I say that a squat is not just a squat if you use your imagination! :-)
There are several variations for all levels of fitness, here are just a few that you can do anywhere.
Exercise: simple squat, squat knee lift, single leg squat and plié squat.
