I tested many forms of walking while wearing a heart monitor to track how many calories i burned during each session. I will explain how to lose fat with walking outside, with walking with a ruck sack, how much you burn if you add weight to the ruck sack and finally how to lose fat while using an incline walk and then an incline walking with a weighted vest.

For good measure I will also track my calories burned at rest, while working and again while in the gym doing resistance training.

We will also discuss the percentage of calories burned from fat. For many staying in the fat burning zone is a focus, and this will explain which forms of walking keep us in the fat burning zone

How does exercise, movement and NEAT impact our weight loss attempts? Weight loss is the campaign we take which includes calories consumed, calories burned and how our body changes over time to adapt to this environment.

Dude I lost 115 pounds over the last 10 months! Started with a calorie deficit and walking and when that got too easy I added a ruck pack and over time im now up to a 30 pound ruck walking 8 miles 5 days a week. The transformation my body has gone thru is INSANE! My glutes, belly, back and chest muscles all have benefited MASSIVELY!

I’m 60 and love cycling. Yesterday I did 21 miles in 1hr 13min and burned roughly 1000cals. Works for me.

As a person who walks 6-7hrs a day (Truth. Walking is my thing) thank you for this video! Thanks, Paul! You are the reason for my success of getting down to 13-14% BF ❤

Paul, I bought a 10 lb weighted vest and walk daily outside for 1hr/3+ miles. My Whoop is telling me that I am putting a similar stress on my heart as walking in the gym on a treadmill with a 3.5 incline & 3.2 speed for 1 hr. Great video!

This is nothing. I go outside and find a steep 90 degree incline, put on a 100-lb weighted vest, and then CARRY a treadmill on my back.

I've been doing my cardio on my treadmill with my weighted hunting pack. With any luck in two weeks, I'll be packing out 50 + lbs of meat, not including the weight of my gear. I'm looking forward to seeing how much of this training has benefited me for my upcoming hunts.
I loved it when you announced in a previous video that you were going to be experimenting with rucking.
After seeing your results with your tracking, it explains why some days I felt like I had been overtraining. I do my cardio first thing in the morning, then my weight training in the evenings.
As always, great information is shared! Thank you!

I'm about to leave for my annual western hunt. My main form of exercise has been carrying a 50# pack for 3 miles and carrying a 10# bar in my hand (high quality hunting back designed for weight...and practice how you play imo). I can do it every day without undue effects. Doing that, supplementing addition steps to get to 10, 000 as needed, and watching what im eating. Im down 30# in 6 months to 204. It's as good of shape as I've been in for 10 years. Gonna try to keep it up after my hunt and try to get into the 180s.

Thank you for your video, I'm 43 In good shape because I work out, but have been bored out of my mind with all my own workouts and needed something new, just been stuck and think a new kind of cardio is what I need.

I just finished my personal 12 week challenge and competed in a bodybuilding competition, I would walk every night 30 minutes with my 20lb vest on and 3.1 miles with it Saturday mornings my quads would be on fire when I got finished I think it really helped add definition to my legs and burn extra calories! It's a pattern il continue to incorporate on my evening walks and dog walks!

I have a 40LB vest, and walking at 12.5 incline @ 2.8MPH for an hour is an insane calorie burn. I love it.

I’ve been waiting for a video like this. I would like to have the formula to calculate the calories burned during exercise. I couldn’t find it in your description.

Thanks! 😁

Great video! I love rucking. I am going to have to try out that incline weighted walking. Could be really useful this winter.

Great spotlight on walking. I walk a lot (am a farmer) and am German, where walking is among the most famous recreational activities. With some extra weight, i can go for a walk with my gf and still make it more taxing for me (she's not into exercising)

61, traveling and currently living in the mountains of Nicaragua. We walk everywhere including for groceries so I often have full heavy backpacks. My only issue is I can REALLY feel it in my knees. I wouldn’t want that weight on any more than necessary.
I have lost 35 pounds in 7 months, just walking and here there is very little processed food. And doing HIT in the gym.

I have my vest, that does definitely make a difference, and if you’re going to walk a lot, I noticed Hoka shoes really save my feet, best shoes I’ve ever bought, but again great video Paul enjoy all your contact
