Fundamentals of Ease | 35-Minute Home Yoga

Показать описание
Join me for this 35-minute practice with a focus on the movement and philosophy of ease. Sometimes, this is easier said than done. It can be “easier” to do what you are told rather than find what feels good and be present in your body. The fundamentals of ease is a practice that can shift the way you arrive on your mat, and the way in which your time there serves you.

This holistic session will be nice for beginners but also beneficial for anyone at any stage of their yoga practice as it focuses on the philosophy of one of my favorite yoga sutras which teaches us ultimately how to balance effort with ease.

Start by asking: Where can you soften?

And, breathe, baby, breathe.

To anybody who’s reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind right now. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life.

Oh heck - doing everything slowly, mindfully - even after years of yoga - is a revelation...it was great to go back to the beginning. Thank you Adriene and hello to everyone/anyone who was practising today 13 July 2024!!! 🥰

I love these moments, with you Adriene. Doing yoga has changed my life, in all the best ways, thank you. ❤ This practice was hard for me today, but I'm glad I did it. It has made me feel a whole lot better then I did before hand. See you tomorrow Adriene, Namaste. 🙏🧡🦋🐢🎸

It's amazing how something labeled "for beginners" is, in a way, almost more difficult than something that's not "for beginners" because it forces us to slow down and actually think about what we're doing, which we as humans always tend to forget when we consider ourselves "good" at something. Just proves that there is always room for improvement in everything we do!

“a willingness to learn rather than master” is such a necessary and welcomed mindset. Thank you for the reminder to practise this mantra today 🙏🏻 ☮️🧘‍♀️

‘Show up with a willingness to learn, rather than master.’ Noted. On and off the mat. Thank you Adriene for your wisdom and guidance. 🙏🏻

Surprising how much you can learn when you have been practicing for a few years with Adrienne and even done this routine before. Each time you learn something new. Might be called Fundamentals of Ease but definitely not easy!

For all non beginners who doubt if they should do this practice: DO IT! I also doubted if I had to do this practice since it says "yoga for beginners" and I do yoga everyday for quite a while. I decided to give it a try and I noticed that my ego had taken over some poses and in this practice I relearned the poses. I felt fresh and new. Downward facing dog never felt so good as it did in this yoga practice, and it was even a fierce practice, it was definitely not an easy practice💪🤸‍♀️. I'm glad that I did it. Thank you Adriene. 💚

I ALMOST skipped this one (ego check!) bc I thought this wouldnt be the most challenging practice. But i scrolled thru the comments and realized i wasnt alone in this thought, and decided I was likely wrong and I should practice this exact video. I "found something new" as Adriene always says, and realized I was working too hard it cobra (over extending, clenching the buttocks, losing the breath). If you arent a beginner per se and think this video isnt for you, Id say, check your ego at the door, click play, and have an honest experience with this one. Quiet the voice in your head that says you dont need a video like this and strive to find something new in these basic fundamental poses. We ALL can benefit from fundamentals

Who else is doing this practice today? I just tuned into Yoga with Adriene last week and found the calendar. I'm on vacay in NC visiting family and this practice was great after a long day of travel yesterday. Thanks, Adriene!!

“working with your body, not on it” rang an inner chime for me today. I’m going to keep that in my head for a while. 🧡💛💜

I found it mentally difficult to finish today’s yoga. I had to pause the video about half way and as an observer ask myself why I felt anxiety all of a sudden. I came to the conclusion that I often come into yoga with the wrong intentions. When I unpaused the video, I heard “working with your body, not on it. Working for yourself, not against it”. Thank you for always saying such kind and encouraging words during the practice.

I really was feeling like this was the opposite of a beginner's practice, and not conducive to finding ease at all! You sit there telling me to make sure I'm not working harder than I need to while I'm also trying to keep in mind pulling my hip crease towards the center and activating my core so I'm not putting all my weight into my fingertips and all that, and it's tough!! It's a lot of work to hold still in those positions, even as someone who is not a beginner! However, while lying in the final child's pose, breathing and listening, I had a sudden realization. Maybe it's the thoughts of discouragement or even of "this is too hard!!" that represents me working harder than I need to. Maybe working hard doesn't mean I'm working too hard, but it's a matter of working through difficulty with patience and love and the perspective of growth and change.

Anyone suffering with injuries be warned although this practice says ease Adrienne asks you to hold poses for a long time. I'm usually able to get through her videos but this one really tested my patience and I actually gave up before the end.

This practice had me frustrated. Found myself getting into the poses and then just waiting (albeit still breathing!), instead of tuning in and finding something new, and was so upset that Adriene was just talking while my thighs were burning 😂
Some days you are a bit grumpy. But I showed up, checked in, and now remember to show up to learn and not master. 🙏🏼
It’s all a practice 🙏🏼❤️

DELIGHT ✨ | July 16, 2024 | I always appreciate the foundations videos as they allow us to fine tune each pose without the distraction of what comes next. Great reminder that even in strength building poses we can find some ease by inviting the breath and relaxing parts that don't need to tense up. Working WITH your body, not ON your body. Such wise words! 🙏

A delightful return to this sequence. I felt a little stiff starting off, with some lingering arm soreness and tightness in my legs, but now much more relaxed and open.
In the static moments, I was able to play a bit and discovered more areas for exploration and ease than on previous visits to this video.
Embody day 10. 522 days in a row.

EMBODY day 10. I continue to hold the gratitude for beginning this home practice with MOVE, then BLOSSOM and now EMBODY. I can feel the strength and flexibility improving on and off of the mat. 🌺
