My problem also… That is the interesting side of this game. How well you are feeling mentally, in everyday life.

Thanks coach because the session speaks directly to me. I feel very stressed on the court because of lack of clarity. My shots are all very different which leads to me being very inconsistent. I find myself trying not to miss instead of just hitting consistently.

This guy is low-key hilarious... "Tried to do an Alcaraz, but it didn't work".

One of the greatest videos Patrick has ever produced! I can only relate with the Italian? junior situation and I think a lot of it is a matter of being thrown in to things too quickly and a matter of needing to be explosive and over-conscious with one's footwork and energie..

Wow, great video. I've always found it unsatisfactory that being nervous at matches is a "mental problem", because, well, how can you cure a mental problem!? Patrick gave us a practical solution: at practice, hit a 100 balls with ZERO miss, always the same height, same spin, at YOUR RHYTHM. And that 100% success rate at practice is what builds the confidence at matches.

In practice (on a good day) i can slap winners left and right, control the point from the first contact. In matches, ill have moments of genius and then mostly just misses. This video couldn’t have been better timed

An interesting perspective on confidence. But I think if I have to hit a million consistent balls in a row without missing on the practice court before I play another match, it could be a very long time before I play another match. 😀

Players are so lucky to have the opportunity to practice and learn from this guy. Awesome work thank you for posting these videos.

Great video. Super interesting aspect of tennis that is not often talked about in these types of content.

Brutal but gets to the point quick. My exact same problems.

Patrick, thank you. I realized that I have the same problem. Consistency is so important. Preparing early and staying relaxed is the main point. I have learned a lot from your video. Thanks again. Ruben From Buenos Aires

Patrick, well done on a great tennis lesson. I relate to this a lot, too many of my shots are inconsistent because of the wrong approach.

Those were absolutely important ideas about how the mind works in tennis, and in real life. I feel exactly that thing every practice. Will work with my consistency and mind control under the pressure. Thank you for the lesson and the champions you coach!

Great one again. This player has been given a shot of the truth…though still watered down. Player: really listen and really work hard and be a force of nature. Don’t walk on to a court already losing in your mind

I also liked that the player was super honest. Instead of giving Patrick the answer he thought he ought to give, he said "I can't answer this question." I'm sure he'll be a good student with that kind of attitude.

Somehow tennis is the funniest game… you don’t know how you play on that particular day as recreational player… some days we hit proper top spin and on other days very difficult to put top spin.

Mourataglou has a gift for teaching. I clearly understand the observations and learn from almost every video I watch.

Thanks for sharing! I find the biggest issue with a lot of players is when they are playing points, they think too much technically and we saw that with this player's reasons for missing. Maybe a focus on tactics and what he is good at would help improve his consistency instead of thinking about a loose arm or how his racquet is moving through the air etc.

Time to move away from technique and understand tactics, what the other player is doing and what he can do to win points. Play points, play points and play more points with coach helping him find his game style and what he can do to WIN POINTS, not look pretty technically. Play points cross court only, then add down the line etc.
