Just for those that think that questioning things can be evil in certain way, the majority of the most moral societies in history are those that have allowed free discussions of ideas. While those that have been least moral are those that do not allow free discussion. Just imagine what would have happened if people did not question slavery or if those that questioned it would have been effectively silenced. During the Civil Rights movement, the feelings of many people that were in favor of slavery were clearly trampled. But now that people search to control discourse to protect feelings, it is not surprising that politics have divided so many people, because if free ideas cannot flow in intellectual public spaces, bad ideas will flourish behind closed doors. Until they become sick of hiding, and since they cannot openly discuss them, they resort to more aggressive means.
It is interesting that the personal morals based on chemicals from the brain can be considered sacred while that very same people consider the morals of others as immoral. If what you believe is truly moral, it would survive basic scrutiny, but if it isn't would you still believe in it? If you know what your brain believes to be moral, to not be moral would you still believe in it, just because your brain chemicals say so? What about homophobic people? Their brain rejects homosexuals, they even feel appalled by it. Is it moral by virtue that they are authentic to what their brain feels? Or should you have the right to question them? If you said yes, only because you are against homophobia, but you would say no to questioning your believes.... then what makes you different from the homophobic person? What makes you different from the racist? If you say that you are different because what you believe is truly moral, they also believe the same thing. SO how can you really know what you believe is truly moral if you do not question it?
An ENTP.
