All of us are feeling stressed and anxious in these unprecedented times. D-HH Chief Human Resources Officer Aimee Giglio sits down with Robert Brady, PhD, the director of D-H’s Anxiety Disorders Service, to talk about the anxiety we’re all feeling these days, in our personal and professional lives. Dr. Brady has some strong advice on anxiety, what it is, what it isn’t, and how to manage it.

D-H COVID-19 Information Hotline: 603-650-1818

The information on the hotline, and the web page listed above, is the most current information available. We will continue to update it on a regular basis.

I overcame my anxiety by reading Said Nursi's book: "Message For The Sick".
I definitely recommend it to everyone.
"O sick person who worries unnecessarily! You worry at the severity of your illness and that worry increases it. If you want your illness to be less severe, try not to worry. That is, think of the benefits of your illness, the recompense for it, and that it will pass quickly; it will remove the worry and cut the illness at the root. Indeed, worry increases illness twice over. Worry causes an immaterial illness of the heart beneath the physical illness; the physical illness rests on that and persists. If the worry ceases through submission, contentment, and thinking of the wisdom in the illness, an important part of the illness is extirpated; it becomes lighter and in part disappears. "

Very nice information. To feel better reduce negative thoughts. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

A worry period then put it away, hmmm 🤔. Okay but are you saying that this applies even if you’re worried you could actually die from COVID 19 because you’re in the at risk category and have a husband who is an essential employee? How do you reign in your anxiety on *that* ?

I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and spoken word performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my YouTube channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

The video is very interesting. I read about it in the book '' Mental health issues in the pandemic'' by Arthur Hill and Oswald Howard at Amazon
