One of the narcs in my life actually admitted their sadistic tendencies. He said he enjoyed kicking me when I was down. It was a true "mask slip" moment for them and a "final straw/wake up" moment for me. I cut off all contact and never looked back.

From my experiences, *ALL narcs had a sadistic streak (it just ranges).* EVERY one of them I've known has been guilty of being unnecessarily judgmental, condescending, unforgiving, hurtful, aggressive, passive-aggressive, AND/OR vindictive at some point 🙄😅

I used to call my narc a sadist. I feel like narcissists are inherently sadistic because they enjoy bringing people out of balance.

My mom is a covert narcissist and I'd call her a soft sadist. Definitely more about instilling fear and doubt than overt damage. Insidious. It's all very sad.

I know about this unfortunately. They are not human. They don't see their targets as human beings. They do get a big time "FIX" from the sadistic cruelty they impose on you. It's impossible to wrap one's head around this. There is nothing you can do but escape.

Experiencing this kind of cruelty is very painful, terrifying and traumatic, so healing may take a very long time. They get satisfaction out of your fear while experiencing the abuse, specially if you are unable to leave the situation, they may even laugh right after and it feels beyond awful. They feel entitled to their behaviour and blame you for it as if you deserved it. My heart goes out to all victims. It is never too late to seek help and get the support you need. Nobody deserves to be abused💔 For them is all about dominance and control as you explain.

I had someone SMILE at me while they EXCITEDLY asked, "am I intimidating you?!" I recognized that i had just experienced my first narcissistic smirk, but I didn't know the names or the science yet.
I got out 4 months later. No contact. 🥳

My sibling completely wiped the floor with me, humiliated me and my mother, all while laughing/smirking through the process. Like a genuine satisfactory smirk and emotionless look in his eyes. I’ve never in my life experienced something like that. It changed me forever because I can’t comprehend treating another human so brutally, specially not family.
