Predestination is not a belief that is exclusive to Calvinism as some think...

Provisionists believe in predestination as well.

Here's the difference...

I’m so grateful for your ministry, Dr. Flowers. You have explained the error of Calvinism and have done so with grace. Your videos and books caused me to “search the Scriptures” and gave me a clearer understanding of what I believe. Just wanted you to know.

You explain the idea very well. A lot of my family grew up in calvinist churches and they really don't understand What predestination actually means.

God's plan of salvation, which is centered around Christ, is predestined. The way a sinner can share in this, grace, faith, no works, is also predestined, but who will receive it, was never predestined, in fact it is a war of the mind and free will. Therefor we fight to destroy false convictions that keep people from coming to God through Christ.

Biblical predestination is once one has heard and believed the word of truth they are predestined to be conformed to THE IMAGE OF CHRIST. Predestined to the adoption upon the redemption of the body when we will be holy and blameless before GOD.

Wholly? Or Holy? Maybe the translation by voice converter did its best. Regardless, great explanation Leighton

You only believe in that word because it's a word that Paul uses; if he hadn't, you would never have chosen it to represent what you believe. I think that is because it doesn't.

God called those He foreknew: not whosoever who think that they are in Christ.

Simple vs contrived interpretation:

Provisionist: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew (who LOVE Him as previously stated, and respond to His call to ALL according to His purpose that none would parish) He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

Calvinist: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God (God first loved only the chosen, God does not love ALL/WORLD because those phrases really mean ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE, so in reality you can’t love God unless you are first born again. Or, even though Paul co-opted the word AGAPE to describe God’s love, instead of using a different word, Paul really meant there are two different kinds of agape), to those who are the called according to His purpose (when the Bible say many are called and few are chosen, few we REALLY CALLED, some
others were FAKE CALLED, and still others are left to rot in the state God created them). For whom He foreknew (this word really means predestination too) He also predestined (resulting in double predestination) to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

That's true. The Holy Spirit will be with believers FOR-E-VER (Jn 14:16). Whoever truly believes in Jesus (because there are false believers) are predestined for heaven (Eph 4:30), but not before faith.

Its both, those whom he chose before the foundations of the earth and those whom repent and trust by faith.

Exactly. Only believers are predestined to receive the blessings listed in Ephesians 1 & new glorified bodies in Romans 8. Until you trust Jesus as Savior (Ephesians 1:13, 2:12-13, Galatians 4:8-9) you ain't Predestined to anything that believers get.

@Soteriology101 You and Warren should start a podcast or a radio show. That would do wonders in pushing back against calvinism.

Dr Flowers needs to take the next step and realize that Calvinism is a false gospel... he teaches strongly against Calvinism as false which is a soteriological (salvation) issue yet still calls them brothers.

If an airplane is predestined to go to Cleveland, if ones boards that plane they are also predestined to go to Cleveland. If one doesn't board that plane then they could still go to Cleveland but it'll be on another flight

Calvinistic/Reformed Theology idea of specific individuals being "predestined to salvation before the foundation of the world" is obviously not scriptural.

I mean, Scripture says many times that people are justified BY FAITH, saved by grace THROUGH FAITH. If specific individuals are selected to be saved or justified PRIOR to them exercising faith (no one is exercising *anything* before they even come into existence), then that individual is not saved or justified BY/THROUGH faith, they are saved or justified by something OUTSIDE of faith.

Either Scripture is wrong about salvation being through faith, or Calvinistic/Reformed Theology's definition of predestination is wrong.

Those who are chosen before the foundation ... ARE THE SAME ppl as those who put their faith in Christ 💯!!!!

Calvinism has divorced Gods will in the salvation of man...from the qualities in the purpose of creation.

Yip, we are all going to heaven, who with moderate intellectuality will pick otherwise when he hears the plain truth.

Predestined from before the foundation of the earth to be holy and blameless, but not saved. That is categorically mental gymnastics.

Let us look at the verse in question
Ephesians 1:4 LSB
[4] just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love,
