I think this is a great example to use with Calvinists because in theory, it illustrates what both sides SHOULD believe- that God decided beforehand to save those who believe that Jesus died for sinners. This should be common ground. From there we can discuss whether it's of an individual nature or believers as a whole

That's what I find in the biblical message too. No damage to the caracter of the loving and merciful God, who PROVIDED free means of reconciliation with Him. ❤🙌🏻

Sounds like the analogy of getting on the ark.

Predestined to be saved (in every sense) if you believe. Not predestined to believe!

Yes The Bible does convey clearly that people are predestined before they were born "to be conformed into the image of his Son" that is nothing other than salvation

why do so many people accept this predestined to believe thing. i’m having a harder and harder time listening to it.

Jeremiah 1:5.. Before I formed thee in the belly I know thee; and before thou camest forth out of he womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations".

Ephesians 1:4-5
Before the foundation of the world, God chose us in Christ, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ".

John 15:16
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
Spoken by our lord and savior here written in red my brother.

How do you say that you came by having the faith that got you into that tower...?

It's a good attempt at trying to make sense of a mystery. On one hand we are certainly responsible to repent and put our trust in Jesus. And on the other hand, it is pretty clear that God calls us to himself. It is God saves us and ourselves.

This doesn't work for 2 reasons. One is that god is all-knowing, and two god knits you in the womb. So if god knows that if it makes you in this specific way, you're gonna end up in hell and still does only it is to blame for where you end up if it is real. So, for your analogy, yes, your god is basicly making people so that they will decide not to enter the building

Predestined to heaven if you believe.
Not predestined to be saved if you exist.

The almighty autonomy we will worship. The Bible does say individuals are predestined

You're getting there. Horidzo is a boundary. Proridzo is drawing the boundary beforehand

Predestined equals predetermining the criteria by which men can and will be saved.

the ones you given me are the ones i justified and gloried. the ones it says not all. this is pure scripture, it says when salvation was open to the Gentiles they rejoiced at this, and the ones that were appointed to a salvation became saved. It didn’t say all that come to me will be saved appointed.

Acts 13:48 - "

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."
Please explain those who were ordained and how you explain this. I need additional opinions on this.

it does. that’s not true it says all the ones the father gives me will come to me. i do not pray for the world but the ones you given me father. not one scripture says it’s up to man to decide
