Dr. Leighton Flowers has been such a great help for me when it came to being saved from the deterministic views of Calvinism.

Glad to hear he's not another all-in Calvinist. Still, I tell baby Christians to stay far away from White, Durban, Piper, Washer, JMac...

To be a Christian, one must believe in the death burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to be personally saved!!!

I admire dr flowers and the work he has done. I pray that some day he gets to where he can stand on the truth and call calvanism the evil amd false doctrine it is. Instead of teaching its good even though it goes against the Word of God

I cant lie but he did seem to contradict himself when he said he didn't feel he had a choice.

I say the same regarding Provisionism being the best framework for how I see salvation, despite Calvinism fitting my testimony.

I do know that God's grace towards me was more than enough to save me three times over. So much so that I had to write it all down in a book - I suspect that Calvinists would read my entire testimony and tear their hair out that I'm not a Calvinist.

Because of His patience with me, I have the utmost confidence in God's grace being sufficient for all who are far off and seemingly impossible cases.

Ruslan's feeling about his own conversion remind me of something CS Lewis said about Calvinism/Protestant reformed theology ; it was taking an emotional response and trying to turn it into a rational system -
"this theology was by no means an intellectual construction made in the interests of speculative thought. It springs directly out of a highly specialized religious experience; and all its affirmations, when separated from that context, become meaningless or else mean the opposite of what was intended.

Propositions originally framed with the sole purpose of praising the Divine compassion as boundless, hardly credible, and utterly gratuitous, build up, when extrapolated and systematized, into something that sounds not unlike devil-worship. The experience is that of catastrophic conversion. The man who has passed through it feels like one who has waked from nightmare into ecstasy. Like an accepted lover, he feels that he has done nothing, and never could have done anything, to deserve such astonishing happiness. Never again can he ‘crow from the dunghill of desert. All the initiative has been on God’s side; all has been free, unbounded grace...For it must be clearly understood that they were at first doctrines not of terror but of joy and hope: indeed, more than hope, fruition, for as Tyndale says, the converted man is already tasting eternal life. The doctrine of predestination, says the XVIIth Article, is ‘full of sweet, pleasant and unspeakable comfort to godly persons’. But what of ungodly persons? Inside the original experience no such question arises. There are no generalizations. We are not building a system. When we begin to do so, very troublesome problems and very dark solutions will appear.”

wondering who decides what is essential ie. secondary issues? Hopefully we can agree the study of salvation matters and should never be considered secondary🌻

Ruslan, a deal breaker for me is behavior. I am not a calvinist.
Piper is a calvinist, that I could listen to.
James White is a calvinist I would never listen to.
White has been corrected several times on his false representation of non calvinists. He is not dense yet continues with false representations.
This is evidence that White is aware of his false representations, and therefore is a liar.
White is arrogant: Mentioning that his young opponent works at Walmart is an attempt to discredit this young man.
So the character of Piper and White is different.
I will never follow any Christian who behaves poorly, and frankly, knows better. No matter what they believe.

Why even debate it if, in the end, it truly doesn’t even matter whether one believes in calvinism or provisionism?

This whole debacle is either a matter of faith, or it is not a matter of faith. It is either a matter of expediency leading to indifference or else it is a matter of faith leading to salvation.

I'll take a little credit for ruslan being a provisionist 😊😊😊

I don’t consider myself a Provisionist but my conscience bears witness that it more accurately reflects Gods Word. Which is my allegiance. His Word, not my personal revelation, desire, or my gut feeling but the truth of the Word. We can’t build sound doctrine around a selective passages. More importantly Jesus warned us, you will know good doctrine by its fruit. Good fruit produces both righteousness and love for the brethren. My testimony is the fruit of Calvinism in my own heart was hardness, dryness and fruitlessness. But I appreciate the careful, civil discourse since the Word warns us against warring over words.

A bridge between Arminianism and Calvinism? I wonder if he know arminius was a Calvinist.

In the divine tapestry of Calvinist Church Sundays, where it's whispered that even your seat in the pew might have been chosen in the great before, a mischievous Provisionist might lean over and whisper, "Do you think it was predestined for me to sit on this squeaky bench or did I just make a poor life choice this morning?" 🤔 While some Calvinists would arrive with the assurance that every hymn and scripture reading was divinely decreed, the cheeky Provisionist would be rifling through the hymn book, hoping free will might grant them the freedom to suggest the next tune. 🎶😄

I ask God if he would help me with this question. Do I have to leave my church because they are Calvinist. You gave me the answer.
Thank you
