My legs are hairy af, and when I need to stay awake my go to is to start pulling hairs. I'd come out of those 72 hours completely hairless.

The ever-present Blue Sunflowers seem to be a catalyst or side effect of these odd occurrences waiting for the next story and it's tie-in with the Lighthouse Universe 👏👏👏

Honestly, stories like this can be so much scarier and more haunting than the ones where everybody just predictably dies.

As someone with narcolepsy this would be like my worst case scenario.

I often stay up between 45-50 hours straight but 72 hours would personally seem impossible

That guard was a real one, gave back the kid's ps2., though i have to say, if they had more games maybe they would have survived, maybe if he was into final fantasy or kingdom hearts

I've stayed awake 77 hours before, during crunch week. Panic-writing 4 12-page essays while mainlining espresso and 5-hour energy cocktails isn't something I'd wish on my worst enemy. Don't procrastinate, you will hate yourself for it.

I passed with some of the highest marks I'd ever received for english/philosophy assignments. The Profs were apparently impressed with my thought process and interpretations of the material. Too bad I don't remember writing any of the 'fascinating extrapolations'. Considering that one of the subjects was 'Oedipal subtexts in relation to Hamlet' that's probably for the best.

one of these days I'm hoping we'll have two particular series. "I work at a Private Museum for the Rich and Famous" and 'The Peculiar Town of Habitsville'. I normally don't even put in requests but these will surely benefit from Stephen's renditions! Also I love this one too XD

I've had a period where I was running low on sleep, too many long nights, less and less hours each time, and it was taking its toll. I took a sleeping pill at night, then had some caffeine during the day, and that's when it happened.

My body became so tired and wired at the same time, it felt like I needed to sleep, but if I fell asleep I would stop thinking, breathing and just stop all together, so my body forced me to stay awake. I was so stressed and scared, my mind raced with my overactive imagination in overdrive, I was saying weird, incoherent stuff, that didn't help either. I was so delirious and tired, but my body was at war with itself between needing to fall asleep and staying awake.
It was a living, waking nightmare.

Thankfully with some help from my Mom, meds and some effort, I cleansed my body of the caffeine, the ups and downers, I started getting my sleep schedule in order, and now this has only happened a 2nd time, but far less worse than the first. Now I try to make it a conscious effort to NEVER pull an all-nighter ever again and pick up healthier sleep habits.

Now I'm not sure if I got brain damage or not, but my vison blurs occasionally or I struggle to remember things, and not even in my 30s, I'm 28 as of writing this.

This story somewhat reminded me of that horrible experience. Lesson of the story: Get your sleep, everybody.

I know we all have the desire to never sleep and stay awake as much as we want, but once you go through what me and this story's protagonist have gone through, you will be BEGGING to go to sleep, especially if you struggle to sleep like I do.
The Fight to go to sleep is REAL and is more important (and harder) than the fight to stay awake.
