The narc I was with purposely started an unnecessary argument with me because I asked him was he going to spend time with me for my birthday he flipped out and said I was harassing him! These people are truly demonic! He has ruin all my birthdays! I’m in no contact with him I’m over it!

I’m the oldest of 7 & we’ve always celebrated birthdays. The narcissist said it was weird that we go out of our way to celebrate birthdays with gifts, texts and/or flowers.

The only time that the narcissist treated me special on my birthday was if he was acting fake in front of someone else. I’m only a few months older than him but he always sarcastically mentioned my birthday in front of folks as if I was 20 years older than him.

Luckily I got out of a narc relationship early but I noticed when it was my son’s birthday all the ex narc did was talk about his birthday and made sure I knew when his birthday was. He said he celebrates his birthday for a whole week and I was like hell no that is weird to me. He cheated on me on his birthday. Narcs really want holidays and birthdays to only be about them and don’t return the same energy. He gave cheap ass gifts but demanded I get him lavish expensive ones. A lot of nerve.

So true every birthday no gift no card nothing. I would go to my family and eat dinner and be happy to be with them. Ugh finally free ☺️ it's only been four beautiful months but they are so easy to breathe. Still working my way out of the marriage through divorce but I don't care I'm free of that child.

So true. My worse birthdays were with him. Twice. Only known him 2 years. He made it a point to act up that week every time. Extreme bouts of narcissistic rage. First time, I got a gift two months later. The second time, not even a happy birthday but he showed up late and flirted with the bottle girl in my face then posted my bottle the next day.

I stopped acknowledging his birthday the second year. Hate to say I can’t wait for his birthday this year. I have my heart set in vengeance. I spent every dime of my check on his first bday with me knowing him and he was so unimpressed and ungrateful. Never again.

well, my ex now living with narc. He didn't ruin her birthday. He even make a very expensive gift for her. Everything was real good that day.

BUT... a few weeks before he was trying to find a way to miss her birthday. It was like attemt to get off the town for 3 days for a job. Unnessesary job. He contacted few collegues, who was working in country, asking, thet they are probably a little bit tired, so he can replace them for few days. THIS 3 days - one before, one after and, birthday between.

@0:50 you are 100% correct. I was with my EX for 1 year. There was always small issues and red flags. The main issue what his inability to Admit he was wrong, even when he was clearly wrong. But the final straw was my birthday/Valentine’s Day. (Which is the same weak.) we always spent a lot of time together and things were smooth. But the morning of my bday got in the car with him for our work out, his energy was so bad. He was plain evil the whole week. I pointed it out. And he gaslit me. Refused to admit it. I broke up with him 2/15, and he could not believe i ruined a “great” relationship “over one day” 👈🏾 classic gaslighting comment on your bday to invalidate how you feel about it. Don’t fall for it ! I left, because i knew if i stayed it wouldn’t get better. Only worse.

Omg! He had to ruin it abd when we got home my anger came out, he didn't like that and couldn't stand it was my day and i was getting attention. So the next day he discarded me and blocked me . Crazy crazy crazy and my narc mother had to also open the gift she got for me because she was jealous and needed attention or drama but guess what i gave her nothing in return but told her i never want to see her again and bloocked. I ended up celebrating my birthday with my 2 beautiful kids 💕

So true - on your birthday they can’t stand you. My adult sister took me out to a bday lunch. All of a sudden she picked a fight in front of waiters. Of course the awkward silence started. She says the worst triggering things to me. Bc the day was not about her. She didn’t speak to me all day and all night. Hurtful 😢 Yes I spent the bday alone.
