It will be the parent prioritizing their gym time, volleyball time, dating time, their own time over kids activities, and if he attends for example an art event or ceremony at the school, the narcissist will be complaining about it as boring and wasting his time...💔 All the examples you gave are so true and helpful. I wish any parents out there who are experiencing co-parenting with a narcissist lots of strength and love ❤️ in humanity. Due to a narcissistic co parent (s) I have not been able to see or talk to my 17 year old daughter in almost 3 years. I have also made several calls to child protective services in an attempt to find out how she is. I had gone to court once in an effort to try to re establish any missed parenting time. Courts are often blind to the antics of narcissistic behaviors. In my situation I did not do anything to harm my daughter nor place her in an unsafe situation. It hurts to see such an obvious bias. Be well other parents experiencing this kind of trauma.🤔❤️🇺🇸

You just described my situation, BUT everyone (except my 3 years old daughter) is against me, because he is “grandiose” and I am the “poor depressed” mother. They believe his lies and I get problems, if the child has any issues… 😢

I've educated myself so much on my narcissist ex, but having a child together even though I have no contact with him, is fraught with anxieties. Just lastnight she said she didn't want to see him and didn't like him as a person, so this couldn't come at a better time for me. Thank you!

I once knew a narcissist whose daughter was really a good girl. Super student, sweet personality, social and very friendly still she suffered from anxiety, confusion and being too dependent on others. It turned out that even though she got a lot of support when it comes to education, life style etc., she was constantly criticized by her narc parents. They were showing her care and support together with tons of criticism, not allowing her to express herself as an individual and not allowing her to make her own decision since they always knew better what’s good for her. This poor young woman was so confused and didn’t have enough knowledge to see the reason. On top of that I have a feeling that her therapists did not get to the root cause of her anxiety. I hope one day she will get what’s going on and get on a track to true healing.

I can relate, 100 times over. He wants nothing to do with schools, going inside for doctor's appointments, their friends or anything but what interests him or puts him in a good light.

After our divorced, my ex narc wife had destroyed the beautiful relationship with my now young adult son, he is now 21. Since my son was left to college he barely talks to me now she did it again with my beautiful daughter of We were doing great and she started the gaslighting campaign along with materialism and extortion It is scary, how much toxicity, my kids do not even talk to me .... I am feeling really sad, abandoned, all I have is hundreds of pictures with them and being happy before they become hostages ....
Love to everyone out there having this issues, stay strong and if is nothing else.... just move on with your life.

Narcissists shouldn't be anywhere near children. I watch my NPD sister raising my nephews and the abuse breaks my heart. They should absolutely be taken away from her but I have no idea how to make that happen legally. As an uncle I have no idea how to protect them from what is a true human monster.

What is in between Grandiose & Covert? I have a child who has ADHD, Anxiety/Depression, School Refusal & I think, Dyslexia, although no one can diagnose for sure.(so I am told.) I am swimming upstream, battling, defiant child, uncooperative CSE/ school support and narc spouse. Unlike your description here, my spouse thinks & feels all of these things mentioned, but only directs them at me, not at the community. I am made to feel like a failure & all the blame is put on me, the way I did or did not do things correctly. They did not lift a finger, only barking at me after something fell apart. Thank you Doctor, for all of your help.

Oh my God!!!! This was such an awful revisit of 36 year marriage with “Who’s the best Daddy in the world?? “. From clapping sooo loud and long at daughter on the stage..or son in judo....to a million other outrageous crap situations!!!! Left as kids were emptying from the house....killed me but always thought leaving earlier would have thrown the kids with new women in their lives and even less stability!!! Just made sure we each got spiritual and psychological counseling but not many out there in the early 90’s had a real deep grip on narcs as far as I could see!!! 1 is done with me, 1 open door but open ear to his sister and 1 I live near and his wife see it clearly and are orphans in the family as I am!!!! Hell on earth for all narc families....so sorry for all the lives spent wasting their self love and confidence tending to PTSD trauma from their “loved ones!!” Thx for your dedication to exposing and healing this major issue !!!!
