If you’re in a toxic relationship leave. Don’t over complicate it. Your heart and wellbeing is more important than feeling like you’re going to be alone.

3 E's entitlement, lack of empathy, exploitative of others. My favorite response to a narc is ;"who are you trying to convince ? Yourself or me.? Why do you have to constantly say your so great. They don't like it if you say " it's not about you"! They can only see themselves thru the way others view them. Very condependent -because of this they must have control over everyone and everything and if they don't have this or its reduced they have anxiety and thus provoke others because negative responses from others makes them feel stronger.

This should be taught in schools. I learned the hard way what a narcissistic person is. My mother was in a long-term relationship with such a person and it got worse with time. As he got older, he got even more bitter. Leave is the only option. I am so happy my mother finally left for good after many crisis and two times coming back to him. It was an emotionally devastating experience and I am taking in all the information I can on early signs to never experience that again.

As Marisa say, it's not about you, it's about them. Nothing you ever do is good enough for a narcissist, they will never treat you as an equal. I wish everyone watching a healthy and happy relationship with everyone in their lives. If you need to end a relationship or friendship it's okay, it's sometimes the right thing to do, take steps to ensure your and your loved ones safety. Marisa is spot on, be strong and make yourself happy, don't hand that responsibility to somebody else.
Blessings to all

Thank you for this very important, vital video. My mother, step father and a partner were all on different levels but all narcissists so when I come across one, my guts start whirling. I wish that wasn't the case. Please, everyone watching listen to Marisa and her advice as it's so important to get these people away from harm because that's what they do, leaving a trail of devastation. Be your own best friend,
Blessings

... narc´s don´t come with nasty messages all the time. >>> They LOVE YOU SO MUCH ! ... to hook you in, when you about to distance yourself.

a narcissistic person doesn't have self love, it May look like it, but it is not, actually is a self defense mechanism that they use because they've been betrayed and disappointed many times

I have a few narcs in my family! Watching my sister-in-law control my brother & poison the kids is unbearable! But I’ve detached from them, it’s so sad! Years of stories, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone ♥️

Marissa is talking only about overt narc. There are so many more about narcisistic. Covert is not that simple to recognise. Those would not even blame directly, but go around until person feels super guilty.

Thanks!! Working hard to understand narcissism and start putting myself first. Been struggling for a long time and have narcissists in the most important spots in my life. Cut ties with my sister… put a lot of distance with a second sister… and working on emotional distancing with a husband.
