Does Heavy Strength Training Make You FAST?

To answer this question, we first have to define what strength training is and whom it applies to. Strength training in the world of strength & conditioning is often regarded as one's ability to produce maximal amounts of force in a given movement with little emphasis on the time it takes. For instance, an athlete lifting 300kg from the floor is a feat of strength, regardless of whether it takes 3 seconds or 5 seconds to finish the lift.

A physically unfit athlete without a solid foundation will most likely grow in most athletic qualities (i.e., speed, strength, power...) from any training intervention of any nature. I am assuming this question is directed towards an athlete with a solid base of strength. In that case, probably not. Because strength training alone only targets ones force production. However, if we combine strength training with velocity training, we will work on both ends of explosive power, and in essence, this will lead to faster sprinting, higher jumping or harder/faster punching... Which is what I assume an athlete is after by the definition ''being faster''.

i think strength and endurance more important how you build that cuz fast twitch muscle tires very quickly. Only good for lifting or 100m sprinting

will strength training make you slow though? will it slow you down? or speed stays the same?

I don’t think this is that accurate
an athlete with a “solid athletic base” but what is a solid athletic base?
An athlete who squats 300lbs will get faster if next year he can squat 500lbs, your strength is a foundation for speed, the fastest athletes in the world can single let squat insane amounts of weight also if you incorporate Olympic lifts and don’t neglect your tendons and ligaments (what’s preached in knees over toes) into a strength training program you will see much better results than just Olympic training alone, + avoid injury.
If your strength to body weight ratio increases your speed will increase
