Belly fat in women can worsen after age 45 and we can prevent it. A study shows that for women around the perimenopausal period which is between 45-55 years of age, the belly fat deposition can be increased by 44%. During this period, the female sex hormone estrogen starts to fall. The body compensates by producing more androgens which tend to add on to the belly fat. If we have a good muscle mass, this androgen effect can be prevented. Hence, it is absolutely important for women to lift weights to build muscle.

at 40 i think i have realised it at the right time and started doing it from last 1 year. Can see the difference already and feeling better day by day with increased confidence level, weight maintained well, good metabolism, and also got rid of period cramps.
So gals buck up and lift all your problems with weight training.
Its awesome.

I'm 19, started lifting weight. I'll encourage everyone to do it. No you won't suddenly look bulky, don't worry about these. You'll look toned, and strong. High time girls should start lifting weight more than doing just cardio and yoga.
(Even if you want to look bulky, you've to train harder than guys as you don't have much testosterone like guys) good luck

I am72 and I lift weights Monday lower body Wednesday’s are upper body and Friday functional. I have been doing it for years now. I have no belly fat
I do every day20 push-ups regular ones as soon as I get up

Dr.pal you are right.but I suggest you do a dedicated video on this topic. And mention all the points and caution to be taken while lifting weights. As many women of this age might already have many issues like spondylitis, hernia, disc other issues and can't jump all of a sudden into weights. Ladies.. how many of think this might be usefull .??😊

Great advice, except please the wording "make them lift weights once a week" - "encourage/support". Give them the information and equipment, or access to a gym, encouragement and then they can choose 🙏☺️ Good reminder to me to get going thank you.
