Is walking enough to strengthen your legs??

You need more ☝🏽

Walking is NOT BAD, I repeat walking is NOT BAD 🙌🏼

But I received a question yesterday saying, “I’ve lost a lot of strength over the past three months, is walking the best way to start rebuilding that strength?”

The answer is, not really. Walking is a great way to help increase your stamina but doesn’t really build leg strength, especially when on flat ground.

Walking is a great exercise primarily for your stamina but it doesn’t really strengthen the muscles 🤔

Your body is likely used to walking. In order to build strength, you need to challenge your body above what it is used to 👍🏽

Choose 1-2 exercises that you can start doing every day, that your body isn’t used to right now. Exercises that feel challenging but don’t increase pain significantly ✅

Do them every day for the next 2️⃣ weeks. Commit yourself to starting your strengthening journey.

I have TONS of ideas of extra exercises you can add in to supplement your walking to help your joints feel better and to help you walk better too!

Thank you very much. I used to wonder why despite walking for long distances daily, my joints & muscles were getting weaker & more painful. This bothered me because I have a family history of terrible arthritis, osteoporosis & other bone diseases. Since I subscribed to your channel & doing your exercises I've had such relief & built strength in my muscles. Thank you for giving me advice that has improved the quality of my life.

I agree...learned that from experience. After trying so many moves to built strength in my legs, to relief tight hip flexors and built up strength all over....i recently tried the Bear Push Up and it just clicked....and yes...will add on another move and built up. I am rejuvernated to find something that feels right for me....but you need to keep trying different moves. Small and focused moves tend to be more sustainable than exagerated and difficult moves. Thank u for your good advise..❤

I would love to see you do a video on tightening or firming up the gluteus maximus muscle. It’s one of the muscles that helps in walking up hills. My back side is so big and flabby but all the exercises I have tried leave the rest of me wiped out and hurting.
