There is no reason to be with a narcissist and particularly to spend time making them better. They will destroy your life

My wife is narcissistic. She adores herself more than she adores me.

Thanks for posting. I draw on my clinical and corporate background to teach classes on identifying and handling narcissism. One reason highly narcissistic people attract others is their false appearance of confidence. They are often very charismatic and have learned to charm others to get their narcissistic supplies of admiration and mirroring.

In my opinion, we all have some narcissistic personality in us. Based on how we are raised by our parents, and who we are surrounded with; other family members, friends, movies we watch, books we read or listen to, tv shows, and everything else we surround ourselves with, will determine the level of the narcissism in us. Now the more important question is, are we so blinded that we can't see we are hurting or driving others away because of that, or as true friends do we actually tell them the truth, and can they handle the truth?

Having NPD is a living nightmare. It's prevented from getting dates and keeping a job. I desperately want to be a normal, good looking guy.

Hi! I was curious if Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Anti-social Personality Disorder can be diagnosed EASILY in a single psychiatric evaluation? Such as the type of evaluation that is given to foster parents and/or parents with a violent past. Often these people are aware of the correct answers and won't openly admit that they have problems, in fact, they generally think they are perfect. I worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for 10 years and outpatient simultaneously and only recall maybe a small handful of people with personality disorder diagnosis. Do these people go under the radar and are the techniques to pick them out?

I feel like NPD describes me alot although I care alot for my partner but I've noticed I care very little for other people's success and I often don't praise them or I'm forced to praise someone as to me it never registers 😅 but I'll always want praise or someone to notice my good deeds and advances but I really don't mean to be like that and as I've told my partner I see it more or I'll act out more when I'm at my lowest or most vulnerable but I'll use it as a mask so people don't see that I'm low so often it gets dismissed as me being arrogant although I don't want help for it it's just finding a therapist

Yes, lets label all people who like themselves a lot and who have pride and at least a little arrogance as "narcissistic". Then we can consider them as bad guys and dismiss them as people. This is a trend these days and it is cruel and psychologically abusive.

My question to you is why did you use a black man in your demonstration

Narciss was not black. He made part of the old Greek mythology. He was white.
If you make a video about Nelson Mandela, it wouldn't be correct to use a blonde/bleu....

My question is first of all thanks for the information, I’m just wondering why did you use African-American men! Only! Don’t you think that it send a message and only black African-Americans have that problem? Seem like that was the message that I got from it! Again thank you so much and have a good day.
