There is nothing more gigachad than hitting the ceiling in your pull ups 😂😂

key points from the video
1. use a band to increase speed
2. use weighted pull ups to increase strength
3. pause at the top of your pull up and slowly descend to increase control at the top of each pullup

Haha! When he kept saying get your chest to the bar! His core was hitting the bar, that's a bit too much! 😅

What helps me is warming up with bands set up on a post, body hunched over with the bands in both hands, simulating a pullup. Resistance should be enough to feel, but should in no way be straining. First I do partial reps of the first 50% of a pullup, concentrating on getting a smooth transition between the scapular portion into the lat pulling phase; a set of about 10-15. Then I walk a little forward to adjust the tension and go right into partial reps of the latter 50% of the pullup, this time concentrating on pulling all the way to the chest and making sure my arms are in a symmetrical position at the end of the pull.

I'll usually do 2 sets of this before pullups and it seems like it really helps me with the muscle connection, because I'll fly up to the bar with much more ease than when I don't.

Thanks king. My muscle-up form is ass so I’m gonna step back and work on high pull-ups

The place where you train at the end has a unique vibe. Would love to train at a place like that

Solid video!!! Chest-to-bar pull-ups are on my check-off list. Very timely!!! Thank you for your work.

The problem with actual chest-touching-bar pullups is that the last inch of ROM requires you to lift your elbows and no longer maintain a vertical forearm. This puts you at an incredibly mechanically disadvantageous position compared to just going chin above bar. You're only gonna be able to do it by accelerating really quickly or by having incredibly strong traps & rear delts.

Yeah. Like a walk in the park on a summers day. Man I’m weak. Hahaha

I really love your contents. They are awesome and so educational. I wonder can you make a video about weighted pull-up and dips and how to become stronger at them. Specifically about programming. As an intermediatte athlete I suffering from plateauing at weighed pull-ups.

That's tough, thanks for the tips

Weighted pull-ups is the way to go definitely.

Please do a video on increasing reps on pull ups. Such as managing a 8-10x4 workout

This is brilliant, I'll try explosive pull ups with bands next time and see how I get on!

You want to use the band as resistance, not assistance. It teaches you to move quickly to overcome the band tension. This method is used in the westside barbell method

I need to relearn how to do pull ups again. My lats are weak and I'm a bit heavy. I'm starting with Australian pull ups. I need to get me a big enough rubber bad to put on the pull up bar as my therabands are not good enough 😕
