I have started taking pics off all drop offs and I have noticed that now they will give you a bad rating for not letting them steal the food if you take a picture in these types of situations.

Just today I got an “hand it to me” no tip order from Chick-fil-A and had it going to a high school student on campus. It was down the street and this location usually has orders ready to I took it. About an hour later I got that contract violation on the DD app. First one I’ve ever received.. what the kid didn’t know is that I have a dual camera dash cam, and the interior camera captured me, handing it directly to him. I reached out to support. Let support know that I had video evidence of delivery with the customer and they took the contract violation off within the next two hours.

Always take a pic of the food at the delivery address, no matter how the customer wants their food delivered. I almost got scammed a few years ago. Doordash support told me the customer claimed I never dropped off her food. I sent them the pic and told them why it was hard to find the delivery spot. Haven't heard from them about the issue since.

I've done about 1, 750 DD orders and have hit the handed order to customer button plenty of times and never had an issue. Guess it's all about the area you choose to deliver in....

Yup, non tippers are also more likely to leave you a bad rating for things that are out of your control.

Doordash really needs to do something to wear the drivers can rate and comment on the customers why do we have all these ratings but the customers don't like it should show you the customer has a one-star rating and not to expect anything less than what they are

That’s why from now on, I set a timer if they don’t answer the door. It’ll allow you to take a photo once it runs out and will protect you from fraud

Its interesting cause i decided to take a couple of no tips because I wanted to test something. Those low balling 2 and 3 dollar orders made my rating drop because they rated me a 1. But it irritates me when they get to piggy back off of a $13.00 tip when its a double. Like doordash is stupid at this point.

What I like to do to people who mark it as “hand to them” but then list as their instructions “leave at door” is take a picture of the order being left and text it to them. Another way to protect yourself as a driver because if the customer makes this claim thag the didn’t receive their order, door dash has a record of the texts sent between the customer and driver for all the orders.

The best way for me so far is to just simply cherry pick, if I recieve a request less than 5 dollars and long distance, I automatically know there's no tip because our base pay is 2.50 to 3.00, ain't no way! 2.75, 3.75, it's a strong no for me ! ✌🏾

Thing is. I have noticed expecially in my area that there are a lot of people who will stand outside a neighbors apartment and see you pull in and try to get that person's order. It's not just hand too me but slot of times you can actually hand it too the wrong person. I just kinda verify their name. I ask them to verify their name. Or sometimes I will say a fake name and see if they correct me. Then just apologize for being a little tired or didn't read the screen right. But if they can't provide name. Then I wouldn't give it too them.

Good advice bro thanks I done had 10 order didn't arrive in 2 months and most of them don't tip and steal food from the drivers very shameful and embarrassing

Sad thing is hand to me but with leave at the door instructions are a dead scam giveaway to me nowadays. I have a new system because even taking pictures won't protect you from a CV with DD. I just got rid of a total of 4 CV from lying customers with photos. What I do now is call the customer and inform them that I can't simply leave at door because that requested a hand to me. It has to be a hand to me or I need to return it to the restaurant. Those customers magically appear to collect their food and I get my picture for records. Folks are savage these days and DD doesn't have pur backs at all.
