Currently counting calories down to the macro nutrient on a daily basis and i’ve gotten shredded, fully natural. Legitimately weighing EVERYTHING I eat. Even packaged food that’s supposed to be accurately portioned. I’ve gone from 14% to probably 10% in 4 months. Nothing else changed, only my diet. People just don’t wanna accept the truth.

I’ve been fat since I can remember. I tried to lose weight time after an time not once tracking calories. Yeah I was never very successful… BUTT!!!! Last December I finally decided to learn to track calories even learned about macros. 5 months later I went from 360lbs to currently 295 (220 being my goal) You guessed it folks being in a calorie deficit, cardio and weight lifting

I went from 293 lbs at the heaviest i weighed myself (possibly was heavier but didn't weigh myself much) to 184 over 14 months. I started walking and eating less calorie dense food and replaced candy and cheesecake and danishes with fruit, high fiber low carb breads with lean beef, beans, and switched to sugar substitutes. I eventually started aiming for at least 15, 000 steps per day as it got easier and i feel so much better physically and emotionally. It literally only takes moving more and eating less LOL. It's extremely simple it's just not the easiest thing to get started on but I actually got sort of addicted to walking LOL. I don't have the lung capacity to run because of being a smoker for a long time but I got a bit of a runner's high from fast-paced walking over long distances.

The title is something I'd expect Greg to post on April Fools

I love watching people like this speak about things like this after I lost weight 20 pounds not counting calories (by eating less and moving more) and then hit a plateau when i had an injury, at which point i had just started counting calories which has helped me lose abother 40 pounds

I feel great knowing Greg is around to rectify the knowledge

I'm currently a trucker and fighting the "fat trucker" stereotype by MOVING AND COUNTING CALORIES! It's not hard even on the road. If you passed 2nd grade, you can count your calories. Is this a comment about how "awesome" I am?... ABSOLUTELY! Enjoy yourself!

I watched this dude early on in my journey. I was confused and the scale wasn’t moving. Then I found Coach Greg and his cookbook and have lost 120 lbs and counting.

Literally just started my Caloric deficit diet yesterday and then this video pops up today 😆 thanks Coach Greg! I been eating random calories from “healthy” foods and can’t burn off the torso/waist line fat but when I was in a deficit diet I was in the best shape of my life. So I will once again prove that what you said in the video is true 💪🏼

Greg I might make a video someday. Thanks exclusively to your diet advice I've lost 92 LBS since October from 310 to 218. By counting calories and eating a high protein low calorie dense diet this is the first time in my life I'm not hungry all day long. I am truly grateful for your videos. Thank you.

I lost just over 30lbs in one year (went from 218lbs to 185lbs) purely from following a calorie controlled eating model. I ate whatever I wanted as long as it fit in the calorie allowance. The amount of fat percentage the calculation stated I would lose, I lost it exactly. I also gained strength in my big lifts so I disproved the other myth that you lose strength during fat loss. Calorie counting works.

My entire family recently decided to take a second look at what we were eating on a daily basis. Since we have been counting calories (as well as trying to hit a 40/30/30 split on our macros and even watching our micros) ALL THREE OF US has lost weight. I myself have gone from 193 lbs to 185lbs and my waist going from 106 cm to 96.5 cm in a matter of just under three weeks. What Greg says is nothing but 100% the truth. We regularly exercise, lifting 4 days a week, but it wasn't until we started being serious about what we were putting into our bodies that we started seeing actual results and started feeling better. (While we're on the subject, if you THINK you're eating healthy but still not losing anything, take a look at things like condements, coffee creamer, etc - 1 small packet of mayo can contain 70 calories!)

AND we do it BY NOT starving ourselves. We have found as long as we are hitting those macros, drinking enough water and making sure we get enough low calories but high density foods (such as cauliflower, broccoli, yogurt, etc), we can be in a deficit AND feel full. So yes, calorie counting does work, and it not only works, but it makes you feel better in the end which allows you to lift more, to run more, to just plain feel better. We find that having a dry erase board on the fridge to record everything down, then taking a few minutes out of the day at the end to record it all works best, btw.

OH and while we are on the subject, monitoring our micros over the last three weeks revealed some interesting deficits my family and I were seeing (trendwise) such as lower than preferable levels of choline and potassium.

In conclusion, Greg is 100% right. Greg, if you see this comment, thanks for the great content!

Currently tracking macros and doing more cardio instead of mostly resistance and the inches started coming off. Weight loss has been slower than what I have lost in the past but it’s still progress. On that note, I’m bummed that your 11 mistakes people make when trying to lose weight was removed; probably one of your best videos. I hope you bring it or a similar one back.

9:43 Chop chop chop that ribeye. I love this guy and how simplistic he illustrated this example. I hope everyone takes care of themselves no matter where you are in your fitness lifestyle. Just keep moving forward.

I was 275 now I'm 160, I eat whatever I want but I count calories. When you do it like this you normally wind up making better choices so you can have larger volumes of food. The magic trick for weight loss is consistency!

I study microbiology, and I've been taught since day 1 that fat is the body's method for storing excess energy sources

Greg just cracks me up 😂😂😅 I was trying to lose weight by changing to cleaner eating, but it wasn’t working until I started to track my calories, because you can eat too much of a good thing, so you need to track. If u want to bake a pie, u just don’t throw things in there, you plan, you measure, you choose your ingredients and you follow a recipe. It’s working for me and also some people think is too much work, but it only takes a few clicks in ur tracker, we do spend alot of time on our phones might as well do something good for ourselves. I use one called track.

I personally find that a combination of intermittent fasting and a meat heavy diet with occasional treats and going to the gym and training harder than last time is a successful combination for me that allows me to eat without counting calories. I may count calories later in my journey but this pattern is just easier for me. I’m always evolving and developing different strategies to use at the right time and place

Thank you Coach. I've only recently started tracking my food. I've only been tracking for a few weeks and I already feel a difference. I've switched to lean meat and I've let go of certain foods. I just made bad choices and I didn't realise how many calories I was eating. Now I'm super conscious of what things weigh and how many calories are in them. I still eat all the different kinds of food I want to, I'm just making better choices. I'm sure it will be easier in the coming weeks. Watching your videos have taught me a lot.

I’m calorie conscious, but I don’t necessarily count calories. I always just look for high protein and low calories
