I didn't buy the full version yet, so sometimes I'm guilty of doing trash searches, however weighing my food has made such an impact on my view of calories, and it's forced me to re-evaluate everything I eat and how I prepare them. Thanks for all the great tips

I worked out that cooked vs uncooked is 2.3 times more, this helps if your cooking batches. I just weigh the pasta separately and dump the sauce on top in the meal prep container!

When I used my fitness pal I just logged it to be more than I was eating, so if I think I ate 1cup I put that I ate 1.8 cups and if I think I ate 1 tbs I would put 2 tbs. And so on. I lost 50 lbs, so I think it worked lol

Gotta double check the cals and macros when you scan, sometimes they’re way off too

pretty convenient that myfitnesspal just recently updated their app so now you have to fucking pay to use the barcode scanner…so lame

What it the chicken is from the farmer market with no barcode? I usually search for chicken breast/thigh and put the weight. Is that fine?

all well and good...but jeebus is that time consuming, and my ADHD brain is happy when I do that. especially when my meals are...more than 3 core ingredients...cause other videos you reminded us not to forget the cooking oil. yeah, so...how bout my minestrone soup? home made chicken broth. shredded chicken, zuccini, canned tomatoes, dittalini pasta, frozen peas. bell pepper. I made TWO GALLONS. how...the wiener shnizel do I accurately and EFFICIENTLY calculate the caloric value of a portion of that soup? short of spending basically a half hour weighing each ingredient before putting it into the pot?

Unfortunately that only works if you are paying for the app…. If you are not a member, You are not allowed to scan.

Not paying for a barcode. Had to switch to Lose It.

Ohh boy, what to do in case you buy straight from the farm? Currently I have no option but to rely on the automatic calorie mapped against each of the product.

Looks like MyFitnessPal isn't amazing unless you're paying. I suggest Chronometer if you're looking for free calorie tracking.

The macros and vitamins are also free. The recommended vitamin intake is also pretty solid.

That’s why I over calculate my calories so I don’t have to measure everything precisely (big🧠)
