A fantastic tip I learned a few weeks back for measuring things like mayo or peanut butter etc. Weigh the entire container on the scale first. Dispense a small amount, and weigh the container again. This way it's easy to measure out 10-30 grams or whatever, without making some extra washing up, and it's handy if your measurer isn't the perfect size too.

I find that I need to start my weight gain/goal by counting calories to get a baseline "look and feel" of how much I should be eating. Once I get a good general visual of portions, it makes the entire process less labour intensive. It works well when I stick to it! My goal for 2023 is to get back to my lean 230lbs by my 35th birthday, May 10 (Currently 250lb). With injury and celebrations, my eating and drinking of beer has gotten a little cray cray. Your videos are amazing and you have been a huge help to me over the last few years - you should really have 1 million subs. Your info is so on point! Happy new year :)

I don't get into arguments or debates about diets or dieting. All I can do is share from my personal experience.
I am a 70 year old man in decent health. I have no major maladies and take no medications. Counting calories has always helped me maintain a healthy weight. The only time I have been overweight is when I didn't count calories.
About 6 years ago I weighed 245 lbs. after about 5 years of not counting calories. I am 5' 10". So, I went back to my old mainstay, counting calories. Today I weigh 175 lbs. and have maintained this weight for over 2 years.

I’ve got Google fit on my phone, my main exercise is walking. I keep my details updated and it gives a calories burnt value. I just aim to eat 300 - 500 calls less a day for slow steady loss.

I do walks / runs / bike rides and use a chest HR sensor. Then, when strava tells me the calories burned, I adjust it and shoot it down to 45% of the estimation. That way I can enjoy having extra calories and my weight loss is not affected.

My struggle is finding a way to know the calorie numbers that are most accurate for my calories needed . Like some apps says 1500 calories to lose 1 pound a week, but others say to eat 2100 to lose 1 pound a week . Any suggestions to best find this info ? Appreciate any thoughts

This video was super useful and helpful! I find myself getting really frustrated when trying to figure out the number of calories that I should be eating on a deficit because I am a petite woman (just about 5 feet even) and many of the calorie calculators suggest deficits that seem dangerously low and impossible to reach. Do you have any suggestions for being able to find the most accurate deficit/calculator that works best?

Weight everything with a scale, why would anyone estimate anything? Anything that goes to my mouth is tracked by weight. And all food is made with a recipe and weighing

I don’t know what kind of Super premium ice cream you are claiming to have 480 calories in 3/4 C serving, but a 1 cup serving of a premium ice cream such as Häagen-Dazs, has 377 calories.
