An upper trap stretch is a great way to relax muscles around the neck. You can use a stretch strap for a stronger stretch.

Next is a levator scapulae stretch. This muscle gets overworked often with using a computer or gaming for long periods.

Finally is a series of chin tucks. You can add scapular squeezes and neck flexion to work different muscles.

Dr jo your excercise are really much needed.. I'm watching your videos (especially neck videos) from 4months. I was not using pillow from 8years. And I met with an accident in 2016 causing a fracture in my c6-c7. But from January2020 neck become worse and I couldn't even sit causing severe pain in my neck. Visiting all hospital's but none of them worked. So finally when I seek neck excercise in YouTube I find your videos. And I practiced all your type's of neck excercise. And results is amazing from two months I'm having no pain at all. Roaming everywhere..
Once again thank you doctor Jo. 👍.for your YouTube channel...

Thank you Dr Jo. Been having neck and shoulder pain. I had to stop all my exercising activities for four weeks since mid June. I have just started watching your videos and doing neck and shoulder exercising here in England. I have been taking painkillers and I hope to stop taking them soon through your exercises. I can’t turn my neck to my right side because of pain. Thank you once more again.

I have subscribed. I’ve worked hard with PT for a year and a half healing torn rotator cuff. Residual neck pains seems to linger. Your exercises are helping. 🙏🏿 Thank you so much!

Great video as always! Those are great stretches. I also like using SCM and scalene stretches especially with patient's who have increased tension and stress levels. Which ones are your favorite?

Hey Dr. jo I have a question about the sciatica stretches. How many days does it usually take to start showing results? It it immediate or does it take a while? Should I do them once a day or should I do them multiple times a day? Where I work I have to move a lot and move fast and it really takes a toll on my lower back, if I push myself too far it starts taking getting to the point to where I can’t even bend over.

Hi Dr Jo, I’m a subscriber and your neck videos have helped my pain so much. I now work them into my daily routine. I have a thin pillow for sleeping on my back at night. However I’ve been wanting to sleep on my side again but the thin pillow gives me neck and shoulder pain. What pillow would you recommend for sleeping on side ?! Thanks

Hey Doctor Jo! I love your videos! Incredibly informative! I recently had a neck injury and an MRI confirmed a herniated disc c6-7 with minor bluging in c2 3 and c3 4. Since the injury I have been consistently dizzy. A brain MRI and Mra ruled out anything very serious but I was curious as to your thoughts on the dizziness coming from a neck injury and what could potentially be done to resolve it

Hi Dr. Joe, thank you so much for your video I found it very helpful. I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and severe cranial sacral instability. I also have a occipital neuralgia.Do you have any suggestions for neck strengthening exercises. I’d really like to strengthen my neck so that I can avoid surgery and all the complications that go along with it. So that if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

Just subscribed because I woke up with intense upper neck pain. Definitely going to seek medical advice asap after that disclaimer alert. Any tips for finding a good consult in a less populated location?
